I have 2002 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 w/ just about power everything. Recently discovered the switch to open the fuel tank flap is no longer working. How am I supposed to put my gas in my car if this button isn't working? Is there another way to open the flap to get to the fuel tank? Any help is appreciated.

I would return it ASAP to where the work was done & explain the problem. If they are reputable thy will work with you. ( if it's recently been done) good luck
You need to remove the lining by the fuel door in the trunk. Once you get the lining loose you can bend it out of the way and remove the solenoid that is held in place with 2 philips head screws.
there should be a door into the trunk by moving your passenger seat down.but as far as your switch it could be a fuse, they should be listed as to what they do.
the fuel filler flap unlocks with the central locking,if you have a problem with the pin not sliding to allow the flap to open, pull away the carpet from inside the boot by the flap and manually pull cable to release....
Hi, if you open the boot (trunk) and pull back the interior trim on the fuel filler side, you'll notice an orange loop of plastic - pull this towards the rear of the car to manually release the flap.
Hope that helps Matt...
The problem is the temperature blend door. Very costly to fix. I have a 2003 with the same problem. A diverter flap door that allows it to switch over from heat to air, is broken. The part is 400.00 and the labor itself is 800.00. The whole dash needs to come off. Everything is behind the dash. Sorry!
