2007 c230 sport Transimision is not shifting properly. I turn off the car and start it back up and the problem goes away for a while. After I start it back up it shifts really hard. I am going to take mit the dealer soon but I would like to have an ideal of what I need to tell them to look for.

Pretty much anyone could do it, but you may be better off going with a dealer or a Euro-specialty shop since they'll have better familiarity with the car.

SOURCE: Ballpark price on 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 Maintenance B

The dealer near me charges $365 for a 4-cyl, $395 for a 6/8 cyl, or $425 for a 12-cyl. The only actual repair/maintenance you get for that price is an oil change (with Mobil1 and the MB filter, which are CRITICAL, ~$120 on its own) and tire rotation. This makes a lot of people think it's a scam, but really, it's a little steep, but definitely worth doing. The rest of the service consists of a massive inspection of your vehicle covering the following items.

-- Fluid levels
-- Tire tread/pressure/wheel condition
-- Air filter (inc. clean out housing)
-- Cabin air filter (inc. clean out housing)
-- Lubricate sunroof rails, locks, hinges, and seals on body.
-- Drive belt and tensioner
-- HVAC system operation
-- Instruments, cruise control
-- Wipers/washers/lights/horn
-- Windows/sunroof operation
-- Hoses
-- Transmission fluid
-- Brakes
-- Chassis/suspension
-- Driveshaft, inc. flex discs
-- Road test
-- Reset maintenance light

This is actually pretty essential to do, despite seeming like a lot of money for not much work. I have very rarely done one without catching a few things that the customer needs, and often it was a problem that would have gotten far worse had it been left to its own.

SOURCE: How to change air filters on 2007 Mercedes C230 Sport

I have '05, both should be similar:
1.Cabin air filter is located above battery on right side against firewall.
Release three latches, remove filter housing, slide old filter out (housing is flexible), insert new
one, reinstall housing.
2.Engine air filter is on the left side of the block (follow intake hose). Cover is retained with six screws
(six point star shape,I belive called Torox, bit/scredriver size 25). Loosen screws (don' t pull all the
way out of the cover) lift cover , and remove old filter. Insert new one, reinstall cover. DO NOT
OVERTORQUE SCREWS! Screw holes in plastic filter housing strip very easily.
Note: Intake hose is very flimsy, one on my car came apart and had to be replaced.

SOURCE: i have a MB C230 Sport 2007. My check engine light

Place your car in park, wait at least 5 minutes then place your foot on the break, put your car in D. Now, take your gear shift and push it to the left for D- direction, you should see the number 1 show on your display console, then push the gear shift to the right, D+ direction, you will see the numbers go from 2 to 6 and then D. Turn the vehicle off and wait about 10/15 minutes and the light will hopefully go out, you will leave Limp Home Mode, and your car will drive properly and you will feel the gears shifting gently without the feel of the transmission slipping or the up or down-shift sounding out of whack. Good Luck.

What's the normal rpm while shifting gears on an automatic 2006 c230?

No such figure. Shift points can be near the redline RPM or just above idle, it depends on hard you press the gas pedal.

no it won't. you might have a slow responding oxygen sensor or a weak one. by this i mean it was probably not changed according to schedule and it has aquired a thick coating of soot or carbon.

What does the c and s mean on the gear box of a mercedes c 230

The "C" is for comfort mode and the "S" is for sport mode. While in comfort mode the transmission will start off in second gear and switch gears at a lower rpm. In sport mode the transmission will start off in first gear and allow shifts at a higher rpm. The car will always be in one of these modes depending on which one you select.
