You will have to go to the dealer and see if they can replace the key if not then you will have to replace the entire lock cylender

I turned the ignition on inside the car. The starter will not engage, click, or engage. Is there a security device on the car that prevents this or is this a new starter to be replaced?

Should it still start after bypassing the lock and using the igntion control module with a screwdriver?
Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop !

Can i unplug the anti theft system in my 1992 saab and my car still start and run?

No you can't. You can bypass a key or module, But the ECM still needs a signal to start and run the car.

It is not reading the security chip. Something was set up wrong to keep it from recognizing or they don't match.

Replaced ignition switch/key/ security module on 1999 saab 9-5 now won't start, will turn over

It surely does. If you got the key, switch, and module fro one car. Go back and get the engine control module. This will work also. But beware. The engine module must fit you engine and transmission. Also beware. Some security modules are one time only program. Meaning, you have to buy a new one and have it programmed.

2002 9.3 Saab hatch cutting off with engine coming on. Starts right back up. Like loses pressure or something while driving on highway.

When this type of a problem occurs you must have the electronic engine control module scanned for fault code before any other work is done, it is step one.

Locate the TCM for a Saab 2002 Aero

Hi,
The TCM on the 9-5 Aero is located behind the glove compartment.
Remove the under panel on the passenger side, and look up behind the glove compartment - the TCM is clipped onto the bulkhead.
Please remember to dicobbect the battery BEFORE removing the module.
Total time to replace the module - 10 mins!
Good luck

I have a Saab 93 TID (2005 Vector) KEYFOB PROBLEM!

I suspect you have a problem in the security system receiver module, which in most cars must be programmed by the dealer.
