vehicle has either reached the mileage necessary for oil change and
other maintenance, or whoever performed the last service did not reset
the computer.
The "Maint Reqd" light is designed to illuminate every 5,000 miles
This is your 'oil-change-is-due' reminder light.
If you recently had the oil changed, and the light came on, the light was not reset. The light must be manually reset after each oil change; it does not reset automatically.
open the slide out where your fuel/ trunk opener are.
the trip/reset button are there. turn the ingnition on without having your foot on the brake, while holding the reset button. the maint light will flash 5 times or the "resetting oil maint" message will appear. hold the reset button until it finishes. if you have nav you will need to go into "info" then maint and rest the mileage in the nav screen. you owners manual also has these insrtuctions in it
That is for oil changes. It come on when the oil change is due.
When you have your oil change done, the lube tech should reset the this light every time.

This is really easy! Please follow these directions:
Turn the key ON
Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "ODO" and the total mileage traveled. If it is on "Trip A" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "ODO", and the total miles traveled.
Turn the key OFF.
Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it in. DO not release it.
Turn the key ON; do NOT start the engine
Observe the Odometer display. The total mileage traveled will disappear, and you will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, the total mileage traveled will redisplay.
Release the black trip meter reset stick.
This completes the reset procedure, and the light will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.
