My cruise control is not working, no lights come on and I've checked all fuses with a meter and all check good, I can't put it in gear without pushing brake so shift interlock is good, all connections under the steering column are good, the brake pedal returns back to proper position, all brake lights are in working order. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Truck is 2006 F150 Ext cab 4X4 5.4L XLT automatic

If the CHML ( Center High Mount Stop Lamp ) is working correctly, the next thing to check is the Cruise Control Deactivation switch on the brake pedal.
My cruise control is not working, no lights come - 6d7cc37.jpg

This is different than the Brake Pedal Position ( BPP ) Switch which is for the stop lamps, and the shift interlock.

The Cruise Control deactivation switch, and the on / set switch are the only external inputs to the Cruise Control, the PCM uses the VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor ) to read, set and adjust the speed ( no more vacuum items on the 04+ MY trucks )

    I don't see a switch I have a 2006 F150 With cruise control not working but equipped.

How can I locate the two external inputs to check the connections? The fact that my cruise seems to work fine following travel in wet weather or going through a car wash and not working after a long dry spell, seems to suggest a poor electrical connection externally somewhere. Maybe even a bad cable?

I SHORTED OUT CIG. LIGHTER NOW DOOR LOCKS,POWER CONTROL FOR MIRROWS,COUTESY LIGHTS AND CIG LIGHT WON'T WORK ALL FUSES ARE OK NOW THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING

You must have a blown fuse. Did you test each fuse with a ohm meter? Keep in mind you must remove each fuse from the fuse block to test it. If you touch the meter leads to the two metal bits on top of the fuse without removing it from the circuit, you could get a false reading or damage your meter. Also, a blown fuse doesn't necessarily have to look charred and black inside, depending on where the element broke. Your vehicle manual should have a diagram showing what each fuse is for. This might save you the trouble of checking every fuse, and confirm the fuse was put back into the correct slot.

Cruise doesn't work passing gear doesn't work , check engine light is on and won't communicate with tester

When you look at the check engine light after you turn the ignition switch to on without the engine running what are the check engine light blink codes? It will blink a series of on off. I need more infor mation about cruise and CE won't communicate?? How does the engine run sound? Do you have volt meter and or electrical schematic? Let me know. Good luck.

CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER

check cruise control fuse and check the brake lights see if brake light working because the brake light switch will deactivate cruise control when brakes is applied.if brake lights dont work either fuse blowed or switch bad.if all is good have vechicle code scan because cruise control control by PCM and vechicle speed sensor and thottle actuator control motor.

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 cruise control will not turn on. I've checked the fuses in the fuse box on the side of the dash but they were all good. Another issue i have occasionally is the brake light

Probably neither.
The brake light switch could knock out the cruise.
You might check the computer for trouble codes, but you'll probably need a shop manual to get the test procedures for the cruise control.

I can't find which fuse runs the cruise control. My cruise just stopped working, light does not come on in dash when CC is engaged which led me to believe I've lost power to the unit ??????????? 2006...

There is not a fuse for the CC itself, only the brake light fuse and the speed control deactivation switch ( on the top of the brake pedal lever ).

The deactivation switch is from fuse # 14, 10A.

Did you change the Stop / Turn bulbs to LEDs without the load resistors ? Usually the CHMSL ( Center High Mount Stop Lamp ) as a standard bulb is enough to keep the CC working, when doing LED Stop / turn bulbs.

The deactivation switch has the switch in the closed position to the PCM, when the brake is off.
Could also be this switch if the fuse tests good with a meter.

Check for power on both sides of the deactivation switch

Fuse #14 - Light Blue w/ Pinks stripe wire - deactivation switch - black w/ yellow stripe wire - PCM.
