Had water freeze up in my car engine and radiator. flushed it all out and added antifreeze but my car still wont start

that is not what the problem is , are you getting gas , ck the fuel pressure at the fuel rail should be at 40 to 50 lbs or something like that , could have a frozen fuel line put some gas in it ,try a little ether and fi it starts with that then you fuel pump may be bad

there is an electric fuel cutoff activated by the ignition key switch..did they check this item,,is fuel getting to the engine at all..they can actually squirt raw diesel into the intake and it should fire up momentarily..if its really cold outside the fuel can gel up and stop the engine from running..need to add cetane booster to the fuel when its near zero outside,,about a quart per tank at each fill up.in rare cases they use starting fluid to run these but its not recommended a lot as this can blow the heads apart if misused..repost findings and take a look at the itemised bill to see what the mechanic did and how much time spent donkeying around with this...trim the fat off the bill if you can..they will usually cut into the labor and remove some of it for you..most of the labor costs is the troubleshooting phase anyway..

Adding an octane booster will not cause this issue. They are designed to go into the tank. You need to check and see if the computer has any stored codes. Best guess at this point in time are cloged catalytic convertors, bad mass air flow sensor, bad map sensor, bad egr.

Car wont start

your gas is most likely stale. go buy some octane booster. and some fresh gas and you should be able to get it going again. Spend the extra money and get the good booster. 108 works very well in my classic mustang.

1997 gmc jimmy wont start in cold

there are a few possible things. easiest to hardest, check your spark plugs for wear and gap. if its not the plugs it could be water in fuel system freezing. in colder enviorments it is always best to get highest octane fuel available because it contains less water. try adding an octane booster or fuel stabalizer when fueling up. also fuel filter may be at the end of its lifespan, it would take more cranking to suck the fuel through it if it is clogged.
