doing all that lacking the service manual
the manual has the correct schematics
and meter finds this easy,
is battery weak, 12.6vdc rested, 10v is dead wrong.
1992 when did it run right, last week last year, or?
which engine 3.0Liter?
is this a USA car?
the engine stuck on like that is caused by PCM relay bad.
it is stuck on.
or IGN switch bad, or its IGN pin wires shorted to hot all the time feeds. some way, like ALARM hacks do (add on struff)
the cause is ECM (ECU) is not going off line, due the power not going dead, key off.
3 causes.
bad power on relay
bad ignition switch
bad wiring on IGN1 pin of IGNition switch.
Did you look all around the edge of the trunk to be sure nothing is there that is jamming it. Like if you had a box of clothes in there and a shirt lapped over the edge and is keeping it from shutting? Just a thought. Raz
sounds like it may be but first i would spray the moving points with wd - 40 and make sure nothing in trunk is it the way (lube is the cheapest place to start).
i have two codes on my 92 cadillac sadan deville that read e 12 and e 96. i understand what they both mean. e12 is 'no distributor signal', and the other e 96 is 'torque convertor is overstrewsed'. i know that the toruque convertor is a big project itself, so im goin to send that into the professionals. but i might be able to fix the distributor, if it is the cap, or a false ground wire which hopefully it is. there is about 170,000 mi, and have gone threw alot of parts that i installed myself, but im not goin to let her go yet she still got alot of miles to go. i just need help on checking out the distributor cap for replacement.
