I have a 1997 Blazer 4WD with a transmission leak. The fluid is leaking out the top of the tranny around an electrical plug that plugs into the top of it. It seems to leak out after it is driven but while it is parked. It leaves a huge puddle by the next morning. Also I would like to know how much longer the tranny dipstick is from where it says Hot because this one is broke off right below the Hot mark.

The leak at the electrical plug.. can you tell if its coming from around the edge(s).. or coming through the wires them selves(around the wires)..If you just want the leak to stop, you could remove the plug and replace the o-ring or what ever type seal is there... If its coming through the wire area (wires themselves),, you can use some devcon 2 ton epoxy..(clear and liquid you mix)
DEVCON 2 TON EPOXY 84fl oz SYRINGE Walmart com
.. about the length of the dipstick..not sure.. a "junk yard" may have one cheap...

SOURCE: need manual for chevy s10 blazer 1991 4wd. My

Why not use a test light and check all of them. each fuse has a small opening on the end facing you when installed. You can probe each fuse without even removing it.Ground the test light, turn the key to on and test away!!! check each end of each fuse. The light should light on both ends...the one that dosen't is bad. A headlight fuse won't always light on either end unless lights are turned on.It takes about ten minutes to check them all...Quicker and easier than poring over a manual!!!

Notice on driveway tranmission fluid leaking check t f top off also first gear hard shift took to DOBBS HAD CHECK OUT WAS TOLD tranmission seal on back side was leaking bad also oil pan gasket leaking...

u get a second look your self by looking at the transmission u dont have to take anything apart to find the leak the oil pan is easy so check that one first if u see any fluid on or around the pan then the seal is shot that dont mean the tranny will burn up, just keep an eye on the fluid level second the rear transmission seal is located at the back of the tranny where the rear drive shaft slips into the transmission if you notice fluid around there and on the drive shaft thats leaking also but like i said just because u have a few minor leaks dont mean the tranny will blow up just as long as you keep an eye on the fluid level. do your home work and find a good transmission shop that will gaureentee the there work at a decent price.

Where is the transmission dipstiick on 99 passat

There is no dipstick on your passat. To check the level of tranny fluid, first drive around the block to get the fluid up to 99 degrees F, to expand the fluid. You can use an infrared thermometer if you want to be precise. Then raise the car on level ground.
About half way up the tranny is a check window, sealed by a plug. Pump VW tranny fluid into the check/fill window to top of window, then replace plug.
Check the pan gasket for any leaks while you are there. If there are, the order a KIT that comes with a gasket and filter. Drain the fluid out the bottom drain hole. You may be able to reuse this fluid if in good condition. The tranny holds a lot more fluid than will come out. You may get 3-5qts when it holds around 9qts. You will need a pump to get the fluid in. A small one for $30 will work just take a little longer. A big one can run a few hundred $$.
VW fluid only. Shop on-line for a better deal than the dealer, because it ain't cheap.
Good Luck!

How do you check the transmission fluid level

It basically has a sealed transmission. Is the transmission showing any signs of leaking? The general rule of thumb is if the transmission is showing no signs of leaking, the fluid is good for 100k miles.

But, if you want to check the transmission fluid, put the car on jack stands so that it is level. On the drivers side of the transmission, about 2/3s of the way up, you will find a 15mm plug. Remove that plug slowly. If no fluid comes out, put your finger in the hole to see if the fluid is right at the bottom of the level of the plug hole. If so, it's good. Some fluid may trickle out when you remove the plug.

If the level is low and you need to top it off, you will find a red cap under the brake master cylinder under the hood. That is the fill location. Leave the plug out of the transmission, put a pan under it, and slowly fill from the engine bay until it starts to leak out of the transmission plug. Replace plug and you are done.

My 1997 ford explorer overheated and the transmission slipped

Tranny fluid may have been contaminated with coolant since tranny cooler lines go to radiator or condensor.
I would fix your leak on radiator, then completely drain tranny fluid and filter and replace.

Transmission Fluid. Pontiac G6. 2006

The trannsmission is a sealed unit and there is no dipstick. Check to see if you have a leak. More than likely it sounds like your low on fluid at least a 1/2 to a whole quart. Since these are sealed units it should be taken to the dealership to have looked at. If there is not any leaks then I would add 1/2 qt of tranny fluid and try driving so see if it helped. If it helped a little but the same problems are still there add another 1/2 qt. If it doesnt solve the problem then your tranny needs to be looked at.
