This may not be the answer you want but as all vw product are computer controlled you are best to get a diagnostic done at a dealer that has the machine(a proper vw one)you dont have to get them to do the work but its so simple once diagnosed correctly.....and a small price to get the correct info first time.
you can buy the all in one type, but they are not available here in the U.K.so i dont know if they are any good...
i am a fully qualified technition but still go to my local dealer for it to be done(cheaper than buying a diagnostic )
it was a good idea, i have a volkswagen reader, all that it read was a glow plug malfuntion which i already knew about, but it has been reading tht for years now and there was no power loss. if you have any other comments i would love to here them.
as it seems to happen when you have no real load on the engi(first gear)could it be a dirty injector,i would try redexe or similar to see if it helped..but i am clutching at straws.....
i will try that, and then ill let you know...
I added a bottle of cleaner to my fuel. as expected it worked fine with that tank of fuel. And it hasnt been loosing power as much any more, it rarely ever happens, but still once in a while. Im going to run another bottle through... see if it helps more. thanks again goeffreyh.
