Make sure the battery is fully charged. A weak one would cause the clicking from not having enough power. If the battery is good, that the starter solenoid is bad. That is usually located on the inner fender well by the battery, just follow the positive battery cable to it. The cable on the other side of it runs down to the starter.

Turn key just a clicking noise. Lights come on. Check engine light on

A weak battery will make the lights come on & energize the solenoid for the starter, but the battery is too weak to make the starter motor turn. Checking the battery would be first, the solenoid second.

I have a 1990 dodge dakota. Everytime I start my truck it makes a clicking noise and like a squel at the same time I don't know why it's making that sound.

Is the A/C on? Without more information it sounds like the compressor might be locking up and the clicking might be the A/C clutch engaging, the belt squeal will be the compressor trying to turn.

My jeep would not start or even turn over but radio, lights all work

Any clicking noises? My first thought is lithe starter has failed. Typically if all the other accessories are working and the starter doesn't when you turn the key it's likely the starter. Usually an a single click is heard everytime you turn the key to the start position. If you heard a series of rapid clicks when you try to start you likely have a weak battery. A jump start may get you going.

Turn key, makes clicking noise but not start.

Double check your battery connections. If the battery is new and the starter makes a series of clicking noises when the key is held in the start position than you are not getting a good power supply to the starter or there is not a sufficient ground.

My 2009 cobalt makes a clicking noise everytime I turn the car off. What is causing this noise?

the cobalts have a very thin walled exhaust and also have a heat shield wraped muffler, the clicking noise you are refering to im guessing is more of a "tink" noise? if it is, its the exhaust cooling down and contracting
