Hi. You need to replace your speedometer cable since there is a trigger from the cable going to engine. Check engine light will be gone once you replaced the cable.

Have a good one!

SOURCE: transmission, and speedometer, check engine light problem

I found the information,as I searched a little further on the Internet,it turns out to be a fairly common problem which is, the speed sensors with the outlet being the most common one to fail but the inlet can also, a relatively cheap fix.

1997 isuzu rodeo speedometer/odometer quit working, check engine light on

I suspect that the TCM is playing up but without a proper code reading it is difficult to say. Why do you not take it to autozone as they do scanning for nothing.

SPEEDOMETER JUST QUIT. I REPLACED BOTH INPUT & OUTPUT SENSORS. I WAS TOLD THAT IF ONE OF THE SPEEDOMETER SENSORS GO OUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON. MY ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. NOW I'M WORRIED.

The same happened on my Chrysler voyager just quit you have to reset it that was all it was on mine. I think my husband held the button in on the speedo/milage counter until you have lots of lights come up on your dash board it looks very pretty. This should reset your speedometer it did mine. Good luck

The D4 transmission light is flashing, the speedometer quit, and the check engine light came on. Fluid is good, and it shiftd fine into all gears. What could be the problem

The D4 light is a transmission code light for those cars probbly reading the speedometer going out and the check engine light the same. Have the codes checked or simply replace it. Here is one of many places to find it (just to give you a price range) http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=92%20prelude%20speedomotor&qpvt=92+prelude+speedomotor     best of luck

Speedometer quit, Drive 4 light started flashing, check engine light now on, slight power loss when accelerating

check your wheel speed sensors. and vehicle speed sensor on the transmission

drive 4 uses it to sense slip in the front/rear wheels.

check engine light on because it needs to know vehicle speed to shift properly.

no speedometer because it turns the voltage into a signal to the gauge

Transmision quit shifting spedomitor quit working

The transmission quit shifting, and the speedometer quit working.
When you say the transmission quit shifting, do you mean you backed out of your driveway, started driving down the street, no speedometer, and you just stayed in 1st as the engine RPM's got higher and higher ?
Please explain what has happened. You should also have a check engine light on in your dash. You will have to plug a OBD II reader in to pull any codes, so we can help you find the problem. Please let us know.

Speedometer quit working, it is not a digital speedo, it is a regular needle speedometer

have you pulled the cable off the back of the speedo to see if it is broken
