Possible internal problem, ck sun gear in the trans input shaft could be stripped out it would cause that problem.

1999 isuzu rodeo=auto transmission

Those run through the floor. You will have to remove part of the shifter console to get to the cable. It has removeable fork clips that release the cable from the floor shifter. The tranny has those same clips that run to the transmission parking pawl(an arm off the side of the tranny that allows the tranny to be shifted). This is not easy to do and you will need patience.

2006 chrysler300 wont shift back into park any suggestions

lots of ways.
rusted cable, and it slipped and is no longer adjusted right.
this takes 2 persons, to see if the tranny lever actually moves
to park. or its the shifter cable issue.
its just a cable.
but there part to fail here. (beside tranny) shifter, , park lockout.
etc.
what id do is find what actual part is preventing it from shifting
and work that.
by careful observation

Auto floor shifter doesnt work

A/T or M/T auto or stick shift car?
the A/T has what is called park lock out, is it failed, the shifter stuck in park you didnt say what dont work means. or tranny type.

IF A/T and if park is stuck then read the operators guide.
in the glove box, it shows what to do . the bypass , feature.
tell more, get more.

Broken shifter cable, how do i repair it

Put park brake on or block wheels, and shift into neutral (if possible), If not go to tranny and pop the cable off the tranny lever (pry off with screwdriver). Turn tranny shift lever, until it clicks twice, leave here for later adjustment. Follow the cable to the adjuster, pull out the flat steel retainer clip, pinch the sides to remove cable from bracket. Remove upper covers below the steering wheel. Remove kick panel below steering colomn. Remove cable from steering wheel shifter assembly (pry off and remove clip same as at tranny). Remove the side kick panel and follow cable along floor. You may find it easier to remove the driver seat (4 nuts on floor and wiring). Pull cable thru floor and replace. Reverse procedure to install. Lock the cable and clip at steering colomn, but leave the clip off at tranny. The tranny should still be in neutral. Now turn key to run and shift the shifter into neutral. At the tranny side cable there is a white square button, press in and lock cable to lever. install retainer clip. move shifter thru ranges and ensure it locks in park. Readjust if needed by pressing button and moving shifter lever on tranny.

99 dodge ram 4x4 w 360 engine trans has only 1st gear and reverse

Are you saying you put in a new but used tranny and it still dosent go out of first gear? Or are you saying you replaced a tranny line? If its the tranny you replace and first is the only gear you may not have adjusted the shifting linkage correctly. Put the truck in park and loosen the linkage on the tranny and slidr the rod on the tranny back and retigten and try that

Transmission questions

The shift plate that attaches to the transmission just needs to be pulled off and rotated 180 degrees,So if it is currently facing up,just face it down and reattach the linkage.

I have some problems with 2000 gmc jimmy not sure if me or truck

If it is a Canadain built vehicle the law required the head lights to stay on while the ignition is turned on. I have owned 9 Jimmy and Blazers including your year of Jimmy and none of them ever amde a noise in the dash when I put the vehicle into park. The shifter only has an electrical line runnig to the light control and a cable which runs under the carpet to the transmission.
