I have a problem that I'm facing as I type this message, my MB C-220 1994 (W202) has strong (normal) spark as I turn the ignition, but it won't start. I have gas in the tank, Spark-plugs are okay (new). Is this one of those example of troubleshoot with the PMS. I drive MB all of my life, even before I could drive we only have MB's at home. This series (W202) has several issues that started to create my doubt on the reliability of this particular series. But I will do the best to make this car trouble free. That's my commitment, so if anyone could help me solve this, I would be very happy to invite you to come to Bali where I and my wife and two children will host and accommodate your stay in Bali whenever you decide to come down here...IMU

Try this you say you have gas in it but you didnt specify whether or not the fuel was getting to the engine. try opening your gas cap and placing your ear to the opening then have a helper turn the key to the on position and see if you hear a whirring sound coming from the tank for about 3 seconds then should stop to make sure your fuel pump is working

2003 kia Sedona won't. start

If this is a sudden occurrence and nothing suspicious happened prior, you most likely lost either gas or spark to the engine. You need to check for both.

Do you hear the fuel pump in the gas tank buzz on for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition key to ON? Unless the fuel pump turns on and puts gas under high pressure at the fuel injectors, the engine cylinders won't get gas to start. Correct fuel pressure is crucial to know if you have a fuel pump (or fuel filter) problem. If the pressure is correct, it is probably not a fuel problem but a spark problem, although there are less common instances where a fuel injector circuit may malfunction.

The ignition system not producing spark at the spark plugs is the other common problem of no starts. Buy a cheap spark tester at a parts store, plug it into one of your spark plug wires, then crank the engine over and watch for a strong blue spark. You might need a helper to do this. If you see a consistent spark, the ignition system is probably good, although you should probably check more than just one plug wire-sometimes one bad ignition coil in a coil pack will cause no starting. Good luck.

check for signal getting to coil with a l.e.d test light the coil should have 12v pos going into it and the neg side should pulse when the motor is cranked. if no input is there check c.s.p sensor.

1988 toyota camry 2.0 turns over but won't start. Car has been driving like a champ and one morning wouldn't start. Turns over fine but won't fire. Tested for spark by removing spark plugs...

Fuel pressure at idle is normally 30-35psi. Start by taking the gas cap off, and putting it back on. That will De-pressurize the fuel system. Also, make sure you have gas in the car. I have seen gauges on these cars read wrong. I hope this helps.

My 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan will crank but won't start.

Hi, if an engine cranks but refuses to start, it lacks ignition, fuel or compression. When the engine cranks normally but won't start, you need to check ignition, fuel and compression. Ignition is easy enough to check with a spark tester or by positioning a plug wire near a good ground. No spark? The most likely causes would be a failed ignition module, distributor pickup or crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

Chevrolet want turn over

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you charge the battery. If the battery is weak, there will be no enough current to the starter to kick the flywheel. One good reason why the vehicle won't turn over.
If the battery is fully charged and still won't turn, then I strongly suggest that you replace the starter itself for it can be the one faulty.
Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

What should a multimeter read on a continuity test on the coil packs? i'm getting 1.9,1.7,1.7

The multimeter can read the resistance and if it is not open or shorted out, I'd say that your readings are in the normal range, comparing each resistance with each other + or - 10%.

I looked up the resistance readings on my online resource, but they did not list it specifically.
---
I looked up the following on autozone.com:

There are 3 dual-tower ignition coils that are part of the ignition control module (ICM). The ICM contains coil driver circuits that command the coils to operate. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls each dual-tower ignition coil by transmitting timing pulses on the ignition coil control circuit to the ICM for the proper coil to enable a spark event.
  1. Inspect the spark plug wires for proper orientation.
  2. With the ignition OFF, remove the fuel pump relay.
  3. Crank the engine and test for a strong spark on each cylinder spark plug wire using a suitable spark plug tester. Ground the companion cylinder spark plug wire of each cylinder when it is tested.

If a strong bright blue spark is present on all of the cylinders, remove and inspect all of the spark plugs for proper torque, proper gap, wear, damage, and fouling. Replace the spark plugs if necessary. If there is no spark on any of the cylinders, test the ignition voltage circuit of the Ignition Coil Module (ICM) for an open/high resistance or short to ground, or test the ground circuit of the ICM for an open/high resistance, or a faulty ICM. The wire circuit resistance should measure less than 3 ohms. If there is no spark on any of the cylinders, or spark is weak or intermittent, test the IC circuit for an open/high resistance, or a faulty ICM. The wire circuit resistance should measure less than 3 ohms. If spark is present on one or more of the cylinders, inspect and test the spark plug wires for arching, cuts, rubbing on other components, and proper resistance. If all tests are normal, then the system is operating correctly.
