I have a 1998 saturn SL2.I would drive it and shut it off go to start it and it would do nothing not even a click. eventually it would start but did it more often. Then i went to start it in the morning and it would not start. I was told it probably the ignition switch so i replaced it with a new one and it still will not start. It acts like theres no power going to the starter when i turn the key to start position. It makes no noise still and the inside lights do not even dim down when i try to start it. I also checked the ignition fuse under hood and it was fine. I need to know what else i could look for and would appreciate any help i could get. Thank You

Crank sensor. My car did this forever. After spending $200 on parts it ended up being a $15 crank sensor you can change yourself.

I put a new radio in my 1998 Saturn SL2 and now it wont start. The starter clicks repeatedly. What's the problem? Someone said the security system my need to be reset. If so, how do I reset it?

If the starter rapidly clicks when the key is held in the crank position than the battery is low on charge. This may have happened if you had the doors open while installing the radio and the dome light/interior lights where on. Try jumpstarting the vehicle. If it starts drive it for at least 1/2 hour before shutting it off. That should give the alternator enough time to charge the battery for the next time you start it. If you have any questions let me know.

In trying to move a 1993 sl2 saturn that had been sitting for a while, the engine started but then when the car was placed in drive, a fuse blew and now nothing works. Where is this fuse located and are...

There are two fuse boxes in these cars one behind a plastic plate down by the passengers feet and one under the hood. Which fuse blew? What is your reasoning for believing you blew a fuse? Were there any issues with the car leading up to this even?

My saturn sl2 alarm starts to beep when I try to start the car and won't stop for about a minute. Car won't start. My power locks have been disabled(over a year now). It started acting strangely and...

This sounds somewhat similar to a problem I had with my 1999 Saturn SL2. There was "burning and arching" on the fusebox and it was replaced. The first few times my car would make an extra beep noise when locked or unlocked and I believe the radio/clock had to be reset. The problem got worse although sporadic. Eventually the car wouldn't start - not even making a clicking noise and a big variety of electrical components would not work or didn't sound right.

Only starts on every other start

the solenoid is connected to the starter. And yes I would say this is your problem, but it could be your tempature sensor also.

Need the correct steps to change the alternator on a 1998 saturn SL2

1st take the positive post off when you start removing it. You will have to remove the ball joint on that side to get it off.
