I have a Ram 1500 5.7L. It starts and runs for a while idles rough then dies. If i take it on the road when it warms up it will loose power but then when it gets to normal operating temp it is fine. When it gets "fussy" there is a very strong vacumn in the rear chamber of the throttle body. perhaps the IAC? I need to take codes on it. Thanks for any help.

Most major auto parts stores will read codes for free if you have a check engine light on. Possibly it's the IAC but it could also be the thermostat or temp sensor sending a bad reading to the ECM. I would check both. You can check the thermostat pretty easy by removing it and checking to see if that resolves the problem. for testing the temp sensor I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle for location and testing instructions.

2005 Ford five hundred sel starts up runs nice and smooth when it warms up starts to have a weird idle like there is a cam loop but never dies drives down the road smooth

How long since a tuneup? Any applicable trouble codes?
The generic info for rough idle on any vehicle is to check for a leak of some kind, fuel--egr--vacuum, something of that nature.

Rough idle

Sounds like a automatic choke sticking....Take the air duct loose from carb..While accelerating engine spray bottle throttle spray in.....as the car tries to die...stop spraying...Repeat 3 or 4 times.....It will clean your injectors. Runs alot better...Remember....bottle throttle spray...not carborator spray

Idles irratic and runs rough down road after warmed up

Rough on idle when the engine is warm means there are many areas to be checked and it can start with the ECM , the fuel pump and more likely the sensors, check the throttle valve, the camsensor which can be set off which might need a correction. Also the vacuum feed for auto advance needs to checked.

91 Dodge ram 50 ignition problem, rough idle in drive, dies when braking

my ram 50 starts just like any other vehicle, (no light switch pulling whatso ever), it sounds like somebody haas rewired something wrong or you have a loose connection and when you hit a large enough bump it cuts your power. Start it up and find a speed bump somewhere and drive over it enough to give your truck a jolt and see if it dies.
