My 1996 maxima key wont open my trunk and neither will the trunk release button

The trunk release button has a little metal like a hammer that hits the trunk lock to release if bent will not open or if you disable it by pushing it down to disable trunk release button the key lock is frozen will not work even if key go's in normal. need to replace it. if u need to get in your trunk and if it is empty would be easy to do just open the middle part of the back seat panel and with a thin and sturdy stick and flash light can hit the little hammer to open it . hope it helps
