I had my head done on my hyundai elantra 1.6GLS J1 1994 MODEL. We had to take the car back for a retorque on the head on 500km and once again in 1000km and once again in 5000km. Is this really necessary to do a retorque so many times. And if so could you please assist met with the retorque settings for the 1000km and the 5000km as the mechanic does not want to do this anymore.

If the manufacturer has added this procedure, it is probably because they have seen failures. I would do the extra torquings. They only take about an hour, if you have the tools. Youmust use a torque wrench.

Remove the air intake hose, as necessary.
Remove the rocker arm center cover.
Label and remove the spark plug wires.
Remove the breather and PCV hoses.
Remove the upper timing belt cover.
Remove the rocker cover.
Tighten head bolts to proper torque specification in sequence shown below. 65-72 ft. lbs. (90-100 Nm).

Install the rocker cover.

SOURCE: oil change procedure on a 2005 Hyundai elantra

it is very easy to change the oil put the car on ramps secure the back end look for the drain plug underneath the engine make sure you have the right size wrench and when you remove the plug also check the gasket on the plug to make sure it is not cracked you will also need an oil filter wrench and my other suggestion to you is to go to autozone to see if they have a Haynes repair manual for your car and if they don't see if they can order you one in the mean time they can also print you off a diagram of how to change the oil in you car safely

SOURCE: Hyundai Lantra 1994

After some extensive research, it looks as though they have two totally different body styles as well as a few others. The differences are as follows:

Lantra: 1.5L
Elantra: 1.6L or 1.8L engine sizes

Lantra: 2,336 lbs
Elantra: 2,500lbs Weight

Lantra: 11.89 gal
Elantra: 13.7 gal fuel capacity

those are only three differences that i have put up among the many that i have found. Lantra's also seem to be one of those out of states type cars that you find in Australia mostly. The body is also totally different.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. At 84,000km, it

you should have took it back first time ,the fault is to do with the control unit inside the gearbox ,its electrically operated and the manufacturer does not sell spares for the internals of an auto box ,so its an exchange gearbox complete ,a right rip off as far as i am concerned ,take it to another dealer out of town and dont tell them about changing the oil,

Car Stereo

I HAVE A 2008 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. I HAD THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WANTED TO REPLACE MY FACTORY RADIO. I ENDED UP TAKING APART MOST OF MY DASH TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PIECE THAT GOES AROUND THE RADIO JUST SNAPS INTO PLACE. I USED A COUPLE OF FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVERS TO PRY IT OFF. THAT IS IT. IT IS THAT EASY. THE WHOLE CAR JUST SNAPS TOGETHER. THE CAR IS CHEAPLY PUT TOGETHER.
