I have a 2001 GMC YUKON 5.3L 2WD. My a/c just all of a sudden quite blowing cold air, I had the freon checked and it was at around 47 psi and then I checked the highside and the guage read 0. My compressor is engaging and seems to be working properly. My question is could there be a sensor causing this problem? I checked my computer but there wereno codes. Please help it was 102 degrees today. My engine has 230,000 miles on it but runs fine.
Hey M, the pressure could be nothing but "hot air" and not freon... (I had this same problem!!) I let off a bunch of pressure..(nothing but clear hot air!!) ..using a small flat punch..on the low pressure side... if freon on comes out right away..stop.. if nothing but hot air comes out.. keep letting it out until freon comes out,,, When mine started letting out freon,, I quit and tried the A/C again... and it has been working fine since.. Just my recent experience!!!!

There is only one A/C system split into 2 zones. Check the blend door actuator, it may have failed in one position or something may be jamming it. Also check the control panel in the dash, My 98 yukon did the same thing, no matter what temp you selected for the front it would blow at about 70 degrees. There is a circuit board in the control panel that gets corroded and one of the circuits controls blend door operations. Have a look.

If you are talking the low side having 125 PSI, that is WAY to much pressure if the compressor clutch is engaged and you have a pressure reading of that amount on the low side. You may have a blockage or if you or someone tried adding freon because it wasn't cold then you may have another problem which could be many reasons. If freon 134a is to high the sytem will actually run hot instead of cold. I'm not sure as to what has been done so far but just giving you what information I can with what I know. I hope this helps and good luck. (also see the the acuator door is open as this will cause the cold air not to go through)
