My son replaced the pickup coil in the distribiter of my 1991 dodge dahota 3.8 liter motor, now it backfires, and seems nut to get enough gas to keep it running...HELP ME PLEASE.!!!!!!! i am afraid to drive it. it scares me. it seems not to get enough gas, then when it does, the motor races.

Code 11 "" No crank reference signal to the PCM. or bad Crank sensor. If no crank signal no spark and signal to the injectors.
Replace as soon as possible.

There is an adjustment for the clutch pedal under the dash where the push rod goes thru the firewall. There is only aprx. 1/2" of adjustment so be careful when making an adjustment, if your clutch is slipping then you need to shorten the throw of the push rod.

If it's a chrysler engine the thermostat is located just below radiator cap. If mitsubishi diamond star engine it's located on the cylinder head , beside the air cleaner housing

SOURCE: Backfires in manifold on motor on acceleration. runs ok low speeds

Nornally reson for backfire is when intake Valve open Internal combustion in Cylinder. Pls Check Your Ignition Timing & Valve Timing. ( I think Your Timing Advancer is Defect )
