1998 sable wont charge battery it has a good alternator good grounds i got it to charge up to 15.8 volts when i made new grounds but when i turned on rear defrost it quit and wont charge again

15.8 Volts is way to high should be 13.29 to 14.29 perhaps your OVER charging!alternators will and have done this.

Batery wont charge new alternater and batery the batery light does nont come on in the dash

Check the 30 amp alternator mini fuse (#26) in the engine compartment fuse box by the battery. By the way, if you don't have an owners manual, you can download on here: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WOVSAB/~MUS~LEN/40/97sabog1e.pdf

My 92 pontiac starts but wen i drive it for a while and ty to start it again the batery is dead, has a new alternator and new batt, what else could it be?

Not much else that I know of, you should have the alternator checked as it sounds like it's not charging. There could be a bad connection somewhere, or a fusible link blown, but those are impossible to troubleshoot over the internet. Who changed the alternator?

New battery won't charge, alt. good from bone yard, is there a voltage regulater on this car?

The VR is integral to the alternator. Check the fusible link and the 10 amp fuse in the battery fuse box.

energy drain somewhere.lights staying on? brake lights? inside lights? may ba bad battery, happens sometimes

May have blown the fuse or connections to alternator may be poor.

What could be the issue charging the battery on a Dodge ram 150 with a 360 motor Alternator is good and is throwing enough juice but its not geting to the battery. we traced it back to close to the battery...

if the batery is old enough it could be that it just can't hold a charge any more, check that the batery terminals are in good dhap and not curoded, it doesent take much to distrupe the current flow to and from the batery

Charging system

It sounds to me like a faulty battery. I bought a battery from Napa for my 92 Sable. Did the same thing...ran all day..then it would die. Come to find out the battery was junk. Replaced that battery and I was good to go. Other than that, I would make sure allt he cable are tight and have the alternator tested.

First you need to check your unit maybe it is grounded,,how to know if your unit is grounded? using tester get your tester in x1 mode, test the tip of battery terminal positive to positive negative to negative, automatically the tester make a deflection.after that switch it .. positive battery terminal to negative wich is the color black wire of the tester,if theres a deflection again ,,,, your unit is grounded
