Starting issue with 1994 jaguar xj6

I just recently replaced a bad battery in my 1994 jaguar xj6. i put the key in the ignition, and all the lights and everything electrical works, but the car doesnt click or turnover or anything. what could the problem be? is it a bad starer or is there some special way to start it?

Had similar problem which ended up being the Park Gear selection position. Do you get a beep noise when out of gear? What about when in park. Although my car was in Park, it needed wiggling out a little while turning the ignition to get it to crank and has been this way ever since.
Also had a Sovereign with an immobiliser that gave me the same no start problems some times, no solution other than an expert auto electrician for that.

My 93 jaguar xl6 has an issue with the battery ! It keeps draining it no matter how new the batteries are

battery drain problems are time consuming to find and resolve. The Jag has a lot going on with the key on and with the key off. I would start by placing a meter on the battery and with the key off start pulling unswitched circuit fuses to see which one or more are putting an abnormal drain on the battery. Common causes are non factory alarm systems and other non factory installed accessories.

My 1994 jaguar xj6 wont start I put a new battery in it but will not start

same car as mine ,my sunday car -right if it turns over then pull the centre lead out of the distributor and hold it 2mm away from bodywork and get someone to crank engine and se if their is no spark .if no spart then its either the crank sensor of the ignition module ,to save money remove the crank sensor its on the front pulley and held on with a 10mm headed bolt ,disconnect the wiring connection then put a meter across the two wires and set it to teh lowest setting on muilliamps ,then move a spanner across the head quickly and the meter should move if it does replace the module its under the coil ,if it doesnt move then replace the sensor which from a dealer is 60 euros and about 20 from a auto factor if they list it in their catalogue
