I have a 2006 Lincoln. The sunroof will come to almost a close but the back end does not left to get a complete seal. It seems like it tries but can't close completely. I found a small part in the track of the sunroof.

Lincolns have a longer Warranty than most cars. It is a Premium Warranty. You do not want the Headliner to get wet and stained so take it in soon and avoid Carwashes.

If you can not get it covered by Warranty you can try a Sunroof installer. You can save money on the Roof track by getting a Salvaged part. Just tell the place you want to save money and if Salvaged is quicker and cheaper, do it.

You may wind up with 99% of your own part; they may be able to switch out the bad part and avoid removing any seals. I hope you found this helpful. You are fortunate to find the broken piece, it will be very helpful to them.

My sunroof on a 2006 Hyundai Azera won't close all the way. Tried to crank it shut but it seems to be stuck slightly open.

Sounds like the track needs lubrication. Check the track for obstructions like accumulation of leaves or other materials that would prevent it from closing completely

Sunroof won't close

Hey Paul, there are limit switches integrated into the motor on your sunroof, usually if it stops completely its because it detected a restriction, such as leaves, or dirt, if there are no visual sign then with the key on hold the switch to the full open position for 10-12 sec then hold it in the close position for the same, cycle the key and see if it reset. The motor can fail as well but it's not very common.. Do u hear any clicking from the motor area when this occurs, also check all fuses to be safe as well,..

2006 honda ridgeline sunroof is stuck, will nor close tightly

Most common problem for sunroofs is debris like acorns, twigs, ect stuck in the track on the sunroof. Also, check for bent warped, or other out of place things causing the sunroof to reach it's limit causing it to shut down before closed completely. Remember, power windows, sunroofs, back glasses, nearly everything powered by an electric motor has a limit switch to protect if from damage.

I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu that has a sunroof that will not stay completely closed. I notices at highway speeds or if I hit a bump, the sunroof "pops" and you can hear the increase in cabin noise...

Open roof all the way and make sure there is no build up on the tracks, get on the roof to do this. Then check to see if any damage on the seal itself. Sun and moisture can affect this.

My Lincoln MKX Sunroof isn't closing completely. Also my side view mirrors not working, I have to close them manually.

If it is able to open fully, but only closes part way it probably just needs to be lubricated. White lithium grease will do the trick. Get it in a spray can with a tube that can be attached to the spray nozzle. There is a set of tracks for the glass and one for the sunshade.

Fully open the glass, then spray some into the track where you can see the roller in the track. Move the glass forward part way, then spray some into the track at the back end of the glass. Now work the glass back and forth, open and close to distribute the grease.

After a few times it should fully close. Once fully closed, open fully then close fully. It ought to work correctly now. This worked for my Lincoln MKX and also for a Ford ZX3 sunroof.

You might need to do the same for the sunshade track before the glass will operate properly.

Recommend to do this annually. It doesn't require as much when regularly maintained.
