Cigarette lighter fault Jaguar S Type 2005 2.7 D

The cigarette lighter in the centre consol has stopped working. The fuse in the boot and relay are both fine. Any suggestions that may help please?

Is it the pull out lighter plug - or the socket not working? The element in the plug often breaks with age and use and a new plug lighter is the only option. Check the socket works by plugging in a tyre pump or something similar that is designed to run from a 12 v socket. Also check the centre connection in the socket as this often gets burnt and cannot make a good connection.
hope this helps - good luck,

Sometimes the lighter has a small built in fuse. Get a test light and check the center pin of the socket, it it does not have power, take the socket out and check the wire, it the wire has power, the fuse is bad. Sometimes you have to buy the whole socket to get the fuse, but I done know about your particular socket on a Jaguar.

Cigarette lighter doesn't work.  Tried replacing fuse, but fuse is ok.  How do you remove the front centre dashbaord panel to gain access to cigarette lighter wiring on a 2005 Jeep cherokee ?

before u pull panel, check for 12vdc with voltmeter inside lighter socket. If u have it, then clean contacts and/or replace lighter(not socket, wiring is fine) May save a lot of work. If you don't have voltage are you 100% sure you have right fuse and not the one below, above, or next to it? I still make mistakes with numbered fuses, which number is for which fuse. To make sure I start counting at 1.

I have a 2003 3.0l Sport S Type Jaguar. The cigarette lighter socket is not working (cannot charge phone etc). I have changed the 20 amp fuse in the engine compartment but it is still not working.

part of the rear of the cigarette lighter is a built in fuse which blows when shorted. Fix is a new cigarette lighter are a lil soldier acrodd the terminals. Be carefull not to use the earth one though.

Cigarette lighter not working, no power to it, can you tell me where the fuse is located for it

The fuse for the cigarette lighter is located in the fuse box on the driver side of the car under the dash. It is a blue 15 amp fuse.
When you open this fuse box, you will see some larger relays with 4 rows of fuses below it. The fuse you are looking for is the first fuse in the 2nd row. in the 2002 X-type, that fuse is a little taller than the other ones.
