Oil change won't hurt...watch out going over your scheduled oil changes. It's a 90 LS 400, It's been around.

If the engine is model is:
(4.0L, VIN U, 4th digit, 1UZFE eng), Calf, then the 1991 LS 400 engine is the same from the year 1990 to 1994.

Look for a vacuum leak

they are bad about pumps leaking into alternatorand shorting out .the high pressure hose from pump to rack and pinion are also bad about leaking. the racks will leak around 100k.

U NEED TO FILL THE COOLING SYSTEM AND SEE IF THAT HELPS.THE ENGINE HAS A COOLANT TEMP SENSOR THAT THE PCM USES(AMONG OTHER THINGS)TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL THE ENGINE NEEDS.IF THAT DOES NOT HELP RECHECK THE TIMING MARKS

BAD IDLE SPEED CONTROL .the idle on this car's idle is controlled by the computer. Unless you have an accelerator cable is hanging up/stuck
