I have a 1994 Honda Accord 4 door v6. I have rough idle when in drive and smooth idle when in neutral. Also rough take offs from a stop or slow speeds. If I pump the gas pedal a few time the rough take stops sooner than if I were to just hold the gas pedal down.

The first thing you should check for is loose missing or broken vaccuum hoses. You may need to use a spray bottle with a soapy solution to check for leaks(bubbles)

could be your clutch is not fully disengauging or on its last leggs check if you can ajust the freeplay at the clutch cylinder thats if your car is a manual

I'd pull IAC valve (idle air control vlave) off & try cleaning or replacing it, if vehicle runs smooth once you start to drive .

I had the same problem with my honda. On the throttle body there is a screw that controls idle speed. If your idle speed is around 800-1000 rpm in neutral, tighten the screw a quarter turn each try until the idle speed is around 1500 RPM. Did this stop the idle?

it is normal for your car to idle down when the ac pump cuts in just have your timing checked and adjust your idle as necessary at about 750 rps at normal idle with ac off also just make sure they havent overtightened the ac belt and pulley.
