My truck has a message on the message board advising me my oil level is low and to stop my engine. I put enough oil in it now but the message still appears. What do I do to reset the message?

This should reset on its own, theres a oil level sensor in the oil pan, this sounds like the level sensor is bad,you can also try to pull up message and hold the reset button, you may have to look in manualy to see the reset button, but it should reset after oil is full, also make sure you didnt over fill the oil.

I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu automatic when it is in first and second gear it makes a knocking sound but when it shifts to third gear it stops I don't think it's a rod knocking because it isn't consent

More information is needed to help with this.

1. Is the knocking coming from the engine, the transmission or elsewhere?

2. If you believe it is from the engine, start the motor and put the auto in neutral and gradually depress the accelerator pedal to gently increase the engine speed for 2 minutes. If you can replicate the knocking noise then obviously it is engine.

3. If the knocking is from the engine check the engine oil level which you should be doing frequently anyhow to ensure you top it up and do not run the oil level low and destroy the motor. (Failure to have the engine oil changed at the required intervals can also result in excessive wear and damage to engine components.) If you do this check and find the oil level is very low then advise here when you repost your query with more information about the source of the knocking sound.

4. Also indicate in your post what grade (octane rating) of fuel you are running the engine on.

Oil pressure low stop engine and check guage

Fist check oil level, the sensor is a pressure switch worked by oil pressure, hopefully the sensor has gone faulty. The oil pressure needs checking, if the oil pump or relief valve has gone faulty, the engine is being starved of lubrication and is causing internal damage. It is advisable NOT to run the engine till the pressure has been checked. (hope it's the sensor)

I have a 200 ford expedition 5.4 liter and I can only check my oil level only if I have my truck and if its cut off my oil stick will not display any oil and the stick, only when its crank. I also have a...

02 sensors will not cause your vehicle to stall if they are bad enough to stall vehicle then your check engine light would be on. if the oil level only reads when vehicle running then ADD OIL ASAP. the level is very low. your dipstick checks level in pan once all oil drains back to pan with vehicle off. your oil is constantly flowing when vehicle running. that flow is splashing the oil up high enough that you are seeing it then. once truck is off all the oil drains down to pan and means level is so low not hitting the dipstick. If no reading when truck off you may need atleast 2 quarts of oil. Start by adding one quart to see if you get a reading. keep adding until you do. do not check immediately after shutting vehicle off. you have to give the oil time to drain back down to the pan. DO NOT KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE THAT LOW ON OIL YOU WILL BLOW YOUR ENGINE.

I get the message "stop engine, oil pressure low"/

Are you leaking oil? Do you know for sure? When you turn your car off, if you check the dipstick the oil wont register until the car has cooled off. You also need to make sure its sitting on level ground in order to get an accurate reading. Try putting a piece of cardboard under your car to see if its leaking. leave it there for a few days. Wait an hour or so after you have turned the car off and check the oil level. Is it low? Is it normal?. Have you tried changing your oil to see if the old oil is lumpy or ruined? Are you using the right oil for your car?

Oil light flashing occasionally

It could be a faulty oil sending unit, but it would be advisable to have the oil preasure checked with a mechanical guage to determine if it is a sending unit or low oil preasure. Oil preasure low enough to allow the light to come on is low enough to possibly cause major engine damage.

OIl light

Be sure to check your oil level, which I'm sure you have, and be sure your reading the dipstick correctly, by rolling it over and being sure level is same on both sides. My guess is that maybe your sending unit is getting a little sensitive. What will happen when you stop, the oil in the pan shifts forward enough to starve the oil pick-up in the pan enough that the oil pressure will drop just enough for the sending unit to alert you. The other possibility is sludge build up in your engine, is not allowing oil from top of engine to drain back down to pan fast enough, thus your basically running with low oil level all the time. Do you and have you change oil often ?
