SOURCE: keyless remote wont work dont know how to program

I have a 2004 Kia Optima EX V6. You have to get a new battery for your key fob(s) and take to dealer to program it. It can only be programmed when they hook it up to the computer. Cost around 40 bucks from Kia. Call around some use to charge only 10 bucks. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2004 KIA Optima LX timing belt/water pump

The thing is your doing the timing belt the water pump is right their with it . it should cost you much more at all besides the cost of the water pump. When doing a timing belt I have a rule that I go by The timing belt/seals =cam , crank , any pulley & tensioner & water pump all get replaced at the same time. I did a t-belt on a Audi A-8 very complex whole front of car has to come off as well, he didnt want to do w-pump & thermostat his thermostat was their as well not even a month later the water pump gave out he had to pay double the price because he didnt want to do it when I had it apart the first time. And make sure mechanic is ase certified . good luck

SOURCE: 2001 kia optima lx keyless entry system reprogram

The 01 Optima had the keyless entry buttons right on the key itself. I'm not sure if the LX had the option... it was standard on the SE version. In any case, programming is done at the dealership, and is expensive. They use their special "code reader / writer" that plugs into the OBD II port under the dash. You provide all keys and they are recoded to the module that is located under the stereo. A cheaper option might be an aftermarket alarm installed at a local car audio shop. They are less expensive than you might think, even installed. Good luck.
P.S. the 01 Optima remote key had a problem with very short range. You needed to be within a few feet of the doors for it to work.

SOURCE: how do i remove the fron't door panal on a 2004

To removed the door panel. Remove 1 screw in the grab handle pocket, 1 behind the door open lever, and 2 screws at the forward edge, the bottom edge, and the rear edge. Remove the small window-corner speaker if equipped. Then lift off the door panel. Don't lift too far, there are wires to disconnect.

Door won't open?

For those of you whose door is shut and you cannot open it, here is the trick that the Kia mechanic. Insert the key into the door lock. In one quick motion, simultaneously turn the key to the unlock position AND pull the handle. It took us several attempts to finally get it to work.

High beam bulb on my 2009 vw city golf. Everywhere I look says H7 but it definitely isn't. I tried it. What is it then? H1?

The H1 is used for the high-beam light, whereas the H7 is used for the low-beam light. The H1 and H7 are both single-beam lights and use a single filament to create a fixed beam and have a different focus angle.

Is the head light in a 2004 passat a bulb with two filaments (low and high beams in the same bulb)?

If it has a normal headlight system than yes the high and low beam are the same bulb the part number will be 1255/H7 If you have HID headlights than you will have a seperate high and low beam bulb. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I have a 2004 v6 2.7 kia optima the engen light just came on i check oil and coolet, brake fluid what else might be worng

You have to use a scan tool (OBD II reader), to find out what trouble code the computer in the car tells you, you can get this tool an any autoparts or have you car scan there or with a mechanic.

Each light has its own fuse. Have you checked them? Maybe try switching two of them to see if they swap which one works... Once in a while a fuse that looks good has actually gone bad. Comment on this post if this doesn't help and we can move to the next step. Good luck!

Headlights

First actually check and verify both elements in bulbs are good with vom, then check fuses, if these are both ok check for actual power to the bulbs when on low beam. I am not sure if this kia uses a relay for the low high beam or not, but if they do then I would check that if no power on low beam at bulbs, last the actual switch if everything else checks out.
