My 2003 Dodge is running really rough. Code readouts are P0352, P0420, P0455, and P0356. My truck is my livelyhood as I work investigations and use it daily. Please tell me what these codes may indicate. I am anticipating that this is serious due to the way the truck is running so no need to sweeten it up. Thanks, .

Code 352 means ignition coil 2 and 356 means ignition coil 6 not plugs. Code 420 means catalyst system below threshold most likely caused by the coil problem. Code 455 means exhaust leak.

SOURCE: 2002 dodge intrepid P0352 error code.

Look for an erroneous connection or a damaged terminal at the #2 ignition coil. To locate the #2 ignition coil look at diagram below.

1 - 3 - 5
< - - - Front of vehicle
2 - 4 - 6

If connection is good next you need to check for a short in the wires between the ignition coil and the PCM.

If there is no short next you need to turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
Disconnect the PCM.
Check the ignition control circuit for a short to ground
-and-
Inspect the ignition control circuit for a short to battery voltage

See whether there is any open in the ignition control.

If everything is good next step would be to replace the PCM.

SOURCE: Truck (2001 Dodge Ram 1500) runs fine. Check

I found that the code is set for:

P1740....TCC Solenoid or Overdrive Solenoid performance

which indicates that a rather inexpensive fix is in order, not a complete transmission replacement!! The TCC is the solenoid which controls the locking of the transmission converter so that you get better gas mileage with no "slippage" while at highway speeds, which is normal when the converter is unlocked as you slow down. If it is locked and the solenoid fails to release it the car will stall when you come to a stop since the fluid in the converter fails to act as a clutch and the engine is connected directly to the transmission input shaft. If it never locks then the oil in the transmission will overheat at highway speeds since ther "slippage" will always be present in the converter cauasing frictional heating of the oil.

Whenever you get a quote from a shop ALWAYS get at least two more!!! No matter what the job is, even a muffler replacement get many quotes. Go to a reliable transmission repair shop and ask for their opinion. In my humble opinion the shop that told you that you need a new transmission is just hungry for work - stay away!!!!

SOURCE: 01 dodge ram 1500 5.2 4WD code P0455 evap system leak.

This code will not stall or no start of your engine, evap only work when engine is off, it is to reduce the fume your gas tank lets out to protect the o zone, but it will not pass Emission test, also could be some thing a small as your gas cap not sealing right.

I recently replaced a cool pack on my 2001 dodge Durango now it is running really rough and it keeps dying and getting hot any suggestions?

The problem you describe is likely unrelated to the new coil pack. Rough running and stalling can be indicative of a fuel delivery problem, contaminated fuel, or one or more bad spark plug wires (or fouled spark plugs, but less likely). Readout all stored codes from the ECU using an ODB reader for a diagnostic starting point.

How do I fix code p0455 evaporative emission system leak detected (gross leak / no flow) on a 1996 dodge stratus

It appears that the hose to the carbon canister is either disconnected or has a hole in it. It won't hurt your car to drive it this way. If you are really concerned about it, replace the carbon canister and the connecting hose and forget about it for another 15 years or so.

Check engine light on got a diognostic and code P0128, P0420, and P0455 popped up trying to figure out what these codes mean and what I need to fix on my car

P0128 ECT Sensor Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature

P0420 Catalyst System Bank 1 Low Efficiency

P0455 EVAP System Large Leak (0.080") Detected

For the 'P0128' your engine isn't getting up to operating temerature. This could be because of a low coolant level or your thermostat is stuck open. For 'P0420', this indicates your catalyst isn't working as well as it should. If you have a four cylinder, this will be the first cat in the system, if you have a V6, then it will be the one on the driver side. Since this code can also indicate a clogged catalyst, you should get this checked at an exhaust shop. They can do a back pressure test to see if it is clogged. For the 'P0455', this indicates you have a fuel leak from the pressure system in the fuel tank. The EVAP takes fuel from the tank that builds up pressure and stores it in a canister until you start the engine. Then it shunts this fuel into the engine to be burned.
