Cold start Hi I have a 1989 mercedes benz 260E (with Auto Trans). It has recently had a top end O/H including Valve guides. Compression is very good on all 6 cyls. I am needing to start the engine 2 or three times before it will keep running from a cold start (ambent temprature 60-70F) the engine after start idles rough for a minute or two & then perfectly after that. After warm-up,engine pulls very strong to 6200 RPM.and idles at 900 RPM. very smoothly. I have removed all computers,relays, and fuzes, and cleaned all contact terminals on same, & on all intake manifold sensors with no improvement in cold start, all vacume hoses from intake manifold to fuel injection unit seem to be OK and I cant hear any audable vacume leaks. Also can I use ether to test for vacume leaks, or will that hurt fuel injection system? One more thing, is there a starting point for the lean-rich idle mixture adjusting, allen-screw atop the injection distributor? I have tried & can not find a workshop manual for this engine model.
