My 2004 jaguar x type a/c blows cool not cold about 80 degrees.freon is full ,clutch kicks in although I don't hear it cycle on and off, the large a/c line gets cold, condensor is clean of debris,cabin air filter is clean what do you think?

make sure the cooling fan is working if so the freon charge could be low

How do you know the freon charge is not low ?
If the system is full, you should be able to jumper the relay and make the compressor clutch engage.
If not, the problem could be the low pressure switch or the clutch.

if the clutch is turning on that fuse is good check the cooling fan if it doesn't work it will not cool the freon

check freon level first. You should hear the compressor clutch kick on under the hood when you turn it on. Can you hear and see it come on and start spinning the compressor?

You likely need to charge the AC with freon. If it has been a year or three since you've had it checked, it is probably low on freon and needing to have some added.

Hi, if you have full pressure (40-50 PSI on low pressure side with engine running A/C set to maximum and blowing) you have enough pressure, but there is air in the system which degrades the refrigerant leading to no cold air. To remedy this, you must completely discarge the system and refil with new R134a which has the compressor/system oil added to it.
To discharge the system, shut off motor, attach your filler hose to low pressure valve and allow system to drain. (squeeze handle if you have that type filler hose) Allow it to drain until no sound of escaping air is present. Be careful not to have the end of hose facing you or others, wear gloves and have some shop rags laid down, pointing nozzle toward rags, that stuff can damage paint and skin and may be cold when escaping. After system has completely drained, start the refil process with engine running, A/C on maximum, blower on full. After about 1/2 of the first can of R134a or 1 full can, your compressor should kick on. Continue refilling with 3-4 cans total (about 3 LBS total) until you have a reading of 45 or so PSI. After each can, allow refrigerent to cycle through the system about 3 minutes to obtain an accuret pressure reading. Pressure is relavent to outside temperature also, optimumly the ambient air temp. outside vehicle should be between 72 and 80 degrees F. for proper reading. That should get you blowing cold air again!

I dont know how you can check it for being full or not? but most likely its low. If you have it on, and high speed like 2000 rpm and the a/c clutch goes on/ off in a few seconds, the refrigerent is low.

you will need to change the clutch fan, under load or high speed will heat up the engine and the clutch fan should ingage to pull more are through the radiator. Also at idle with no air moving through that radiator the clutch should ingage to pull air through.

plus one on the cooling fan problem. if it was low on charge then as you slow down, condensor temps and line prressures would raise therefore it would cool at low speed and and not when moving since the incoming air would drop system temp,reducing line pressure and then cusing compressor to cycle. the auxillary cooling fans must be on whenever a/c is on, if not, thats your problem. get this taken care of because if you get stuck in traffic, your engine will overheat also if fans are not running

if you just added cans on freon to the system without gauges to see how much is in it,you have it over full, if the system is over full, it cant curulate .if it dont curulate it wont cool, i had one that was to full ,the hotter the outside temp got it stopped cooling, when it was 80 degrees it done fine when it hit 90 it stopped curulating,no cool.check it with gauges,check a/c fuse in compressor ,hope this is some help to you, thanks robert b.
