The problem is in the lower left kick panel. remove trim from there. There is a green connector and a black connector. Use trim tool to releaces connectors from body. Unlatch black connector. Be sure to press in side locks before pulling down on white latch by squeezing sides. Pull connector apart. Notice melting occured at red wire with white stripe. Cut wire at connector entrance and exit. solder in a jumper to these two loose wires, thus bypassing connector. Tape properly and enjoy the A/C. Then tell Bossier62 he owes my a free diag. They charge 10 bucks for that. Would not offer me a credit. I can answer many more of these.

Do me a favor and delete this string. Rewrite it in your own way if you want. Got a 2006 Chevy equinox with a sticking ignition cylinder coming tomorrow. Is it as easy to fix as a Ford ignition cylinder? If not. Do you have any tricks? John

Unless you own a newer vehicle and a set of wiring diagrams to go with it you don't understand the situation. Power runs straight from the underhood fuse panel through a connector to the blower motor plug. Sometimes it has power at the blower motor, sometimes it doesn't and it is in this circuit where the problem lies. It has nothing to do w/ resistors, relays or the control module. I'm assuming there is a loose connector pin or something of that nature in this circuit.

Hey John that's the user name that shows up for you here, everyone can see it.....sorry if I ruffled any feathers....surely didn't mean to. Thanks for the diagnosis too, my friend in Maryland will definitely appreciate it.

The best I can do on the ignition switch is to send you some info on it from GM SI....it'll be from an 05 though since the program I'm using doesn't go into 06. If you're interested let me know. BTW, yesterday was my first day using this site so I'll have to figure out how to delete the thread.

Lots of things to check is it getting power from the switch are the fuses all good and usually if a resistor goes out u will still have a low speed blower just not higher speeds it it quit totally sounds like a power issue from switch id check all fuses first

2005 Chevy Colorado LS 5.3L Blower motor iOS not working. Replaced the resistor because that was burnt out but it didn’t fix the issue. Figured out the connector only gets power at the brown wire and...

The top wire at blower motor is voltage, the bottom wire is ground. So brown wire is voltage, orange wire is ground. So, the resistors, havc control, on and off and speeds are controlled on the ground circuit. Generally if ground is good, no voltage or very little on the ground circuit, because the component is using the voltage. The wire connector for your blower motor is it any good? You could remove blower motor, use jumper wires off battery for voltage and ground, the blower motor should run up a storm. It wouldn't hurt to use inline fuse, just incase.
I looked at info for 3.5L, my info didn't show 5.3L?

Blower motor not working 2005 GMC sierra resister ground pin burnt

small_car4.png Wiring problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 6 Failure Date: 07/18/2009

The connector that plugs into the blower motor under the glove box became too hot and melted the plastic resulting in the a/c and heat not to work (this includes the windshield defroster). I've been looking up problems and solutions and found that this is a recurring problem with GMC and chevy trucks yet there has not been any recall, in fact the dealerships have an extremely overpriced kit to fix their faulty wiring. About 66,000 mi.

Blower motor stopped working

Check for power and ground at the electrical connector at the blower motor. If power and ground is present, the resistor is working.

Blower motor works resistor is not burnt and i have power just will not turn on? can i cut the ground and put a new ground in so it just runs on high?

With everything plugged in and the ignition key turned turn to run position or with the engine running ground the yellow wire at the blower resistor with a jumper wire. If the blower doesn't work ground the purple wire on the resistor. If the blower works than the resistor is bad.

If the blower works when the yellow wire is grounded turn the speed switch to lo. Pull the HVAC blower relay in the instrument panel fuse block. Two of the pins should have power and two pins should have ground. If you only have power on one pin than the switch is possible bad in the HVAC controller. If there is power on two pins and two pins are grounded try swapping the relay.

I have a chevy Equinox 2006. The blower (in the cabin) was working on and off for the last few months. I took it into the dealership and it happened to be working when I took it in (never fails!) and...

There's a relay under the dash on passenger, tell him to check that, also the blower motor resister, screw into the housing next to the blower motor, has 8 wires going to it. body control module NO.

2005 equinox a/c unit blower comes on and shuts off randomly and sometimes stays off for days...but blows cold air

I have the same problem. I brought it to the local chevy dealer to run a test. The following is quoted from the chevy dealer. "The tech found that the circuit for speed#1 in the resistor was open and removed blower motor and found internal damage-will fail soon. Vehicle needs new blower motor and resistor parts and labor - $414.28." It makes sence but the lady in front of me was complaining about a $800 bill for a diagnostic that did not fix her problem. They where now asking for another $500 to take another shot at it.

The blower motor on my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer is not getting any power. I've installed a new blower motor, and resistor. The fuses and relays are good, and the compressor works, but there is no power going...

try checking for a 12v feed to the motor and iam sure you will find one ,i think the problem is the earth as the earth is the one that controls the speed via the reostat and the control knob ,so if its works with an earth then its either the reostat or the control switch

What's causing my 2005 E-250 blower motor not to work.

does the motor not work at all or only on high setting? if only on high setting, i would recommend replacing the blower motor resistor. if it does not work at all, i would check the blower motor fuse first, if that has power, i would unplug the blower motor, key in run, and turn the fan on, then check for power at the blower motor connector, then check for ground, if both present, then replace the blower motor.

2005 GMC Sierra - 1. started out with blower

Have you had the blower motor switch replaced? I had a Chevy Silverado and the low worked but no other settings. It is a pretty quick fix and reasonably cheap.
