What's it going to take to pry that corrective action out of you? I've been trying to help someone w/ the same identifcal problem for a few days now.

Unless you own a newer vehicle and a set of wiring diagrams to go with it you don't understand the situation. Power runs straight from the underhood fuse panel through a connector to the blower motor plug. Sometimes it has power at the blower motor, sometimes it doesn't and it is in this circuit where the problem lies. It has nothing to do w/ resistors, relays or the control module. I'm assuming there is a loose connector pin or something of that nature in this circuit.

The best I can do on the ignition switch is to send you some info on it from GM SI....it'll be from an 05 though since the program I'm using doesn't go into 06. If you're interested let me know. BTW, yesterday was my first day using this site so I'll have to figure out how to delete the thread.

Thank you John! Your solution was right on the money.I have been pulling my hair out for two days. I pulled the kick panel off dicconected the wiring harness and found the burnt connection. Used a jumper wire. Problem solved.
Lots of things to check is it getting power from the switch are the fuses all good and usually if a resistor goes out u will still have a low speed blower just not higher speeds it it quit totally sounds like a power issue from switch id check all fuses first

The connector that plugs into the blower motor under the glove box became too hot and melted the plastic resulting in the a/c and heat not to work (this includes the windshield defroster). I've been looking up problems and solutions and found that this is a recurring problem with GMC and chevy trucks yet there has not been any recall, in fact the dealerships have an extremely overpriced kit to fix their faulty wiring. About 66,000 mi.

The problem is in the lower left kick panel. remove trim from there. There is a green connector and a black connector. Use trim tool to releaces connectors from body. Unlatch black connector. Be sure to press in side locks before pulling down on white latch by squeezing sides. Pull connector apart. Notice melting occured at red wire with white stripe. Cut wire at connector entrance and exit. solder in a jumper to these two loose wires, thus bypassing connector. Tape properly and enjoy the A/C. Then tell Bossier62 he owes my a free diag. They charge 10 bucks for that. Would not offer me a credit. I can answer many more of these.
Do me a favor and delete this string. Rewrite it in your own way if you want. Got a 2006 Chevy equinox with a sticking ignition cylinder coming tomorrow. Is it as easy to fix as a Ford ignition cylinder? If not. Do you have any tricks? John
