I have a 1993 saturn manual transmission and when

I have a 1993 saturn manual transmission car and when I'm driving it, it pops out of gear. Why?

Time to find a much lower mileage used tranny and have it put in. Replace the clutch components with new stuff while you are at it.Note that the transmissions 91-99 will most likely swap but you must know whether you have an SL1 or SL2 and the donor car must be the same..

    Not going to be cheap as there is a lot of work there and I would not let some guy with wrenches take it on. The cost will exceed the value of the car I am sure, but then you will have a reliable car with some mileage left on it. Saturn S series with manual are great little cars.

I think you should let a mechanic look at it, especially if you have an automatic transmission. The automatics had a performance setting and a setting for traction which keeps the transmission in second gear from a stop for more controlled take-offs. If this is like your problem, it may be stuck in the traction setting.

1998 saturn manual transmission will not engage in any gear
Well, there is one thing for sure the trany is damaged. You will be further ahead looking for another junk yard trany rather than worry about what is going on inside since there is probably parts and pieces inside that would still give you trouble without completely overhauling it, plus a junk yard trany, standard would be easy to come by.

Check your transmission fluid level. If the filter has never been changed, now is a good time to replace the fluid and filter.

1993 Saturn SL2 will not shift into highway gear
Saturn says and I quote

there transmission fluid is not to be changed after the first change at 6000 miles.

Now I say it should be changed at every 30000 miles. If changing out the fluid doesn't work then you need to go to a transmission repair shop.
