I bought my car used from someone and it didnt come with the owners manuel and the cover of the fuese box is missing so i need to know which fuses r wich!! plz help

REPLACEMENT

  1. Locate the fuse for the circuit in question. NOTE: When replacing the fuse, always use a replacement fuse of the same amperage value. NEVER use one with a higher amperage rating. On some vehicles, you may have to remove a cover for access to the main fuse block i bought my car used from someone and it didnt - 88256p51.jpg

  2. Check the fuse by pulling it from the fuse block and observing the element. If it is broken, install a replacement fuse the same amperage rating. If the fuse blows again, check the circuit for a short to ground or faulty device in the circuit protected by the fuse.   3. Your owners manual shows the fuse is in underhood fuse box, number 6--30 amp. If you don't have an owners manual you can go to, fleet.ford.com and look at your owners manual.

The fuse box / relay plate fascia 1 is placed on the driver's lateral side of the dashboard, door open. See pictures below:

I think the lighter plug fuse would be a yellow but to be certaint there is a site that you can go and find the manuel that you didnt get when you bought the vehicule there is the site. http://www.autousermanual.com/view/lincoln/continental/1999/a/owners-manual/ there is the site where you can donwload the owner manuel.

You need to replace the fuse. Look in your owner manual under index and look for fuse box location. Remove the fuse box cover and find the fuse that states cigar lighter or mirror. Remove that fuse and replace with new 15 amp fuse. Your fuse box should have a fuse puller and auxilary fueses

Not sure why you'd want to disable the airbags but you need to remove the Restraint Control Module (RCM) fuse. Check your owners manual or the inside of the fuse box cover for its location.

I need the fuse box diagram for a '97 Ford Ranger
By the the way there john-boy from about this year up to 2005 have the same problem. The parts stores discount or otherwise don't have a manual that describes the locations either. The fusebox is also in the door jam and not under the dash as you explained. There are also half as many over again under the hood inside the power-box. On top of that there are fusible links in various locations. The inside covers of the panel are numbered along with the fuses and provide no real information on the function of the fuse or the relays either for that matter. A replacement Owners Manual is about as expensive and far more helpful in this situation. You will probably come out a lot better in the end joining a DIY Vehicle Maintenance site online. The book you see only shows you the workings for one car. The sites allow unlimited access to all makes and models for about $20 a year.
