2006 Mini Cooper won't start.

2006 Mini Cooper. Drove car and came home. Three hours later, it won't start. Turn key, engine doesn't turn over. The headlights flash on and off in sync with a clicking noise. Checked the battery connections - OK. Battery indicator is green. Tried jumping - same response.

Whinning noise when engine is off

Whinning Causes
The whining noise you hear coming from the power steering pump is one of three things. The first is more of a loud "hush" than a whine; this is the sound of fluid rushing through the bypass valve when you turn the wheel all the way to one side or the other. Sometimes the bypass valve malfunctions or doesn't open all the way, causing pressure to back up in the pump and cause your engine rpm to drop. The second and third causes result from cavitation -- vacuum pockets created behind the rotor's vane blades as a result of extremely high pump action -- or air in the lines.

How do I reset the computer after changing the battery in my 2004 mini cooper S? The car started three times. Now it won't start even though all of the other electrics work

Turn off ignition. Press and hold the trip reset button, then turn the ignition on (don't start the engine), within 5 sec the SIA status will be displayed. Release the reset button. Press and hold the trip reset button for 5 sec, "rst" will be displayed. Release and re-press trip reset button.

The new status should be displayed.
