The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.
DID YOU ROTATE THE BRAKE PISTON BACK IN THE BORE AND INSTALL BRAKE PADS WHERE THE BUTTONS ON THE BACK SIDE OF BRAKE PADS ENGAGE WITH THE ALIGNMENT CUT OUTS AFTER CALIPER BEEN INSTALLED ONTO THE ANCHOR PLATE.SEE IF BRAKE PADS NOT INSTALL RIGHT IT WILL CAUSE ABS LIGHT PROBLEMS.BRAKES WILL DRAG SLOW DOWN PUT DRAG ON THE WHEELS..
I have a 2001 Cadillac Deville with 105,000 miles. The ABS and Traction Control light stay on. What could be the problem? Could I reset the ABS and Traction Control light?
There is a good possibility that this may not be a transmission related issue but a bearing hub assembly which may be going bad. The abs sensor is contained the with in the wheel bearing. They may be able to put a scan tool on it and let you know what codes are disabling the abs and traction control but quite possibly just a bad wheel bearing.
This is normal after replacing the brake pads. You can take it to any shop that has a device to erase the log on the dash. This is computer related and needs to be removed by a scan tool.
Traction control and anti-locks(ABS) lights come on there is sensors that are pluged in behind the rotors check and see if they are disconected or loose sometimes when you change your brake pads they might come loose and not making contact.
Could have a ABS wheel speed sensor going bad, once this happens will disable the ABS and the trac control. Have it scanned and find out which sensor is bad. Small possibility of ABS module failure, but not as likely.
