My 1991 Isuzu Rodeo fan switch went out on "1 and 2" settings. Number 3 "blinks" off and on once in a while. The cooling part is okay. Is it a switch or a relay? I had a friend check behind the switch (he removed the ashtray) and check the responder or whatever that is called. Is there a fuse to check or a relay? Or could it be a wire problem? I am hoping it is something simple. Thank you for your time and help.

Facing towards front of engine-number 1 is on passenger side front cyl of engine. Number 2 is front cyl on driver's side-number 3 middle cyl on passenger side-4 on middle cyl driver's side-5 on back cyl passenger side and 6 on back cyl driver's side. The distributer rotates COUNTER CLOCKWISE-number 1 cyl's sparkplug wire attaches to distributer cap connection closest to number 5 cyl.-to your right side of this plug wire on cap would go cyl number 2-then 3-then 4-then 5 and then 6. The firing order is:1,2,3,4,5,6
Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay. Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location. Page 1 of 1 SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS - 2.6L EFI -1994 Isuzu Rodeo
I had the same problem and my fluid was fine! First try to bleed it (i went the easy way and bought a speed bleeder) if that doesn't do it i replaced my slave cylinder and it worked.
try checking out your blower speed control resistors. follow your power wire from blower to the resistors, to locat, should be in duct in front of blower for cooling. I hope this helps, if the resistors pack is good only think else is a bad switch
