20001 SLK 320 hardtop stopped

I have a 2001 SLK 320 and the roof stopped opening with the side windows down and truck partially opened. I noticed that the interior clock has stopped also. Does this sound like a blown fuse and if so where exactly is the fuse for these two things. There is not a schematic in the engines fuse box. thanks

It could be an in-line fuse, which you would need to search for, out with the fuse box. Follow the wiring as it enters the driver area, then along to towards the motor for the roof.

My roof on my slk 320 doesnt shut all the way and the bad thing is it doesnt open either. its closed on the top but my back windows are still open and my trunk is not completely shut where the roof goes in...

the most common problem with those retractable hard tops are leaking hydraulic cylinders. check the insides of your trunk where the top down cylinders are located if there's a leak, and also check the level of the hydraulic fluid situated near the right brake lights.
in your slk manual, there are instructions on how to manually close the roof when the hydraulics fail.

My trunk will not open on my wife's 2001 slk Mercedes. It's not locked. I think something is stuck in the lock. Can you help me?

your can check is it something stuck in the lock, first operate your roof either way, if you are going to open the roof as a first action boot lid will open to backward, let boot lid fully open and stop operating the roof, ignition off and have a look if something stuck you can see, if you are going to close the roof let close the roof and before close the boot lid stop operating roof switch, otherwise faulty boot lid lock, if faulty lock but you can try by mettle key blade which is in your electronic key, first take out mettle key from electronic key then insert mettle key in to the key hole in boot lid turn fully left and open boot if not work turn fully left and push it in, is this information helped you?

Electric windows are fine the roof gets half way

If the top is half way down that means that the trunk is open and should be touching the trunk switch to continue the process. The switch must be bad and it is inside the rear right fender close the the stop light

Top won't go down, sometines it won't go up

I have seen this problem many times. One of your microswitches is either giving a false reading or fell of its retaining bracket. It is much easier to diagnose with a scan tool. My first guess would be that your retractable cover in the trunk lost it's switch input. Check the switch that is contacted when your cover is pulled out. If that is o.k. look inside the hard top deck lid cover very carefully and you will probably see either a broken wire or a loose switch. You may have to manually close your top becuse the switch inputs are illogical. Your manual will tell you how to close your roof.

Sticking joints are the most common culprit to intermittent raising and lowering problems. Once those have been lubricated and that has been checked off the list, then consider looking into electrical issues.

The moisture from the rain may be helping to lubricate these joints and that might be why it works fine in the rain...
