Go to autozone and borrow a scanner, check to see what the problem is then replace the part , when you have it fixed go back and use the scanner to clear the code. if you dont fix the problem the light will just come right back on if you just clear it

Engine light on hard start after refuelling 2007 caddy dts

Try resetting the check engine light by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (While the battery is disconnected turn your key on and off a few times and run through some switches on the dashboard to drain out any remaining power that might still be in the system). If your vehicle is equipped with a backup power source for memory purposes it could take a bit longer. Reconnect your battery and everything should be reset as far as warning lights. If the check engine light comes back on i would say you have an unrelated issue.

Check engine light stays on, but the car runs fine. I disconnected the battery to let it reset itself and that did not help.

The check engine light (yellow light) comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system u will seldom feel the car engine run any different, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

Replacing sending unit in float tank of 2003 Pontiac Sunfire

HI. please remove the negative battery post before you being this repair. Make sure you have depressurized the tank as well.

Replace the negative battery post after you have finished the sending unit repair.

The cpu will automatically reset once the negative battery post is reattached and the engine fuel pressure builds back up to its normal pressure.

Please rate and have a great day:)
