2001 nissan maxima keyless entry remotes and the interior power door lock wont work unless the car is running. they work fine yesterday. then last night they stopped working. I replaced the batteries in the remotes. If the car is running they work fine. you can until and lock the doors from the remote and doors. I checked all the fuses and they are fine.

have u tried under the dash a black box which is to alarm open it up there will be 2 pins there that u need to bridge with a flat screwdriver at the same time the blinkers should flash then press each of your remotes to programme them hope this helps

Close all vehicle doors, LOCK doors using drivers side switch.
Insert key all the way into the ignition, (do not turn) remove key.
Repeat this step 5 times. (6 total)
Hazards should flash to indicate program mode.
Press any button on transmitter to be programmed, hazards should flash to indicate successfull program.
*For additional remotes, cycle drivers door lock UNLOCK, LOCK, press
any button on remote, hazards should flash. Repeat step as necessary.
Ignition ON, (engine off) ignition OFF, UNLOCK using drivers side switch, test remotes.

All four door lock actuators were bad, fussed enough with dealer , they are fixing for free, save me $1600!

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .
