Abs light turs on and off - 2002 Mazda Tribute

The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.

I can help with a little testing. On the hinge side of rear passenger door, should be a wiring harness. Probably has a protective rubber boot covering, pull the covering back far enough to get at wire colors in the diagram. One wire is voltage the other is ground depending if the window is going up or down. Use a test lite to check. Key on, I would think.Your front passenger window works ok? If the wires check out good for voltage and ground, could be something wrong with window motor?

check the switch on your brake pedal and the wires going to it in case they are chaffed.

may be un hooked lots of people have no idea how to repair things so unhooking turs them off

On occasion an ABS light will come on when a brake light is out. So check your brake lights first. Your ABS light is on because there is a malfunction in the ABS system. Is your brake warning light and your ABS warning light both on? This would be an indicator of a major malfunction in the ABS system. Stop driving the vehicle and fix this immemorially. If only your ABS light warning light is on this will not effect normal braking but the ABS system is disabled while the ABS warning light is on. You still need to have it repaired but you still have brakes for the moment. Now the code for this fault will be stored inside the ABS memory module. So you pinpoint this with scanner. Stop lights are genrally routed through rhe tur signal control, which is the most likely place to have a problem. If the signal control feels unusual. there's that maybe provided you've gone the gambit of checking bulbs, pedal switch, etc. get an automatic fuse from the psrts store and put it in the bad fuse spot. It will go on and off like a flasher untul you locate the short. Get one that is lower than the one that blows to get it flashing faster. Do your turn signals and 4 ways workand see whar the do when you appliy the brake whilr on. Good luck

replace the pads...there is a sensor on them that snaps in and when the pads get thin it will create a ground turning on the light...hope this helps
