Hello irmagrita
The speed sensor is located on the right front front of the transaxle near
the right axle flange. With automatic transmission.

On the manual trans. it's located on the transaxle.
I hope this helps.

Hi!!

The VSS is located on the transmission held on by a small 10 mm bolt. Click on the link below to see how it looks like.

SOURCE: how to replace the crankshaft sensor on 2003 Nissan Altima

The cam sensor is mounted in top of the engine on the right side of the engine where the tranny mounts. You have to remove the top cover of the engine to get to it. Remove the electrical connector from the sensor, there is a clip that holds the connector in place. Push down on the back of it and then pull back at the same time. Pull on the connector and not the wires, they are very small and will break. Remove the bolt holding the sensor. To remove the sensor by twisting and pull on it at the same time. Is the engine not running, why are you replacing the cam sensor?

Where is the crankshaft and camshaft sensor located?

Here's some pics of my 2003 Altima Crankshaft Sensor. Often mistaken by the Camshaft Sensor because both are identical sensors. They are each located in different locations. I've seen diagrams with the WRONG labeling. Again, this is so confusing for even a mechanic to understand because both sensors carry the same part number which is rare. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/members/digitaldxing-albums-2003-nissan-altima-crankshaft-position-sensor-picture331-2003-nissan-altima-crankshaft-position-sensor.html

How do remove a vehicle speed sensor on a 1999 nissian altima

USUALLY THE VSS IS LOCATED ON THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING. RAISE THE VEHICLE ON THE JACK FOLLOWING SAFETY MEASURES( APPLYING HANDBRAKE AND WHEEL STOPPERS); LOCATE THE VSS, DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION AND REMOVE THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR. REPLACING IS THE THE REVERSE.

Where is the crank sensor located I need to replace it

Hi, behind the engine (driver's side), mid lower part on the engine block near the transmission. In order to access, you must remove the intake air hose. It will be hard to see it, the only way is to reach down and feel for the electrical harness that connects to it. hopefully this helps!!

You can also locate it by viewing this link..

Speed Sensor

There are two speed sensors, one in the transmission, and one on the spedometer see here.

To locate the sensor buy the Haynes or Chilton manual, there you will find diarams and procedures for all your car service and repair, that is a must if you want DIY.
You can find manual here :
