Car starts fine and runs fine. When the car has been running for an hour or more where the car warn if you shut it off it won?t start not unless you hold your foot to the floor for a minute or more and then it will finally start. Seems like it doesn?t have gasoline in the carbs to start with but when the engine is cold and has sat for days it starts just fine.

Year make and model ? On some cars the brake warning light and battery warning light are on the same circuit. A problem with either system will turn both lights on. The check engine light means there are trouble codes in the computer that need to be retrieved to assist in troubleshooting the problem.
Take the gas filter off. Should be located near the front of the carbeurator, take off the air cleaner and look for it, it takes 2 wrenches to take it off, a little gas may spill out but not much and replace it, however there is a strong possibility that he gas pump is out if the filter is fine. Hope this helps
I would first have the computer checked for trouble codes AFTER the problem occurs. It will be very difficult for a mechanic to fix if the problem can not be duplicated.
.When the injectors leak they flood the engine and holding pedal to the floor or waiting hours for fuel to dissipate. See if you have spark and fuel when it wont run. If there is no spark check the electronic control module under the cap
Sounds like the alternator is going out the slow way.
Youre kinda lucky because almoat all alternators go out without warning.
Most Autozone shops or places like it will run a test for free.
