I have a 97 Chevy Venture Van with a weakening fuel level sensor.

I have a 97 Chevy Venture Van with a deteriating fuel level sensor(fuel guage moves erradically).
Is this a sign that the fuel pump will fail in the near future?

I've read that the fuel sensor can be replaced independantly from the fuel pump without R+R of a new complete fuel pump. Is this true?

Thanks for all your efforts in answering my questions:)

To the 97 venture fan not blowing. You asked three question that need verified. get your self a 12 volt test light. there simple then you verify voltage at the fan.if so most likely its your fan if you can use a volt ohm meter ck resistor at the motor usealy any reading is acceptable. The resistor you spoke of is most likely your speeds. If nothing else run a jumper to the fan from the battery.

No it's not, if your van is running fine, fuel pump is good, just the fuel gauge sending unit is bad, to repair, the gas tank will have to come off, the sending unit sit on the same hanger the fuel pump is on.

2000 chevy venture doesnt start

check to make sure the security light is not on if it is the van will have spark but no injecter pulse the best way to solve this issue is to have the original igniton key and put it in the igniton in the run position and leave it on for 10 minutes then the light will flash then try to start the van

I ran a Diagnostic on my 1998 chevy venture mini van and here are the codes that came up, P0102, P0134. What does this mean? I have already replaced the following, fuel pressure regulator, both crankshaft...

the 2 codes are

P0134 02 Sensor Circuit no activity Detected (bank 1 sensor 1)
first check your fuses check the wiring to the sensor(the sensor is on the exhaust in front of the engine-open the hood and look down) if the fuses and the wiring look good replace the O2 sensor there are 2 types of sensors original equipment(oe) style and universal the oe style has a connector you just plug in, the universal you have to hard wire in

the 2nd code is Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
check the wireing, make shure theres a good connections
you said that you already replaced this sensor so im going to recomend that you go after the other code first

deal with the oxygen sensor then reset the computer and see what codes come back

97 Silhouette Fuel guage not working correctly

drop fuel tank. if guage moves all around its probably the fuel level sensor on fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank. If the guage stay's in one spot its the guage , replace instrument cluster assembly. you can take just the glass off the cluster and move the fuel guage needle and it will work (if stuck) but for how long? The wires to the guage come from the sending unit to the power train control module to the instrument cluster. pray its not in the wiring.
