97 Saturn sl. battery went dead,,replaced

Saturn, sl 1991.
it has antomatic transmission.
so does it shift funny,????
if not reset the PCM (TCM) and see if the codes return.
if yes, they are real.
the car has this book, called a FSM , it shows every step to take
for each code. the Factory service, manual, if you beg GM , they might help, dont know.
Here in town only the Buick dealer touches Saturns....

i think you counted the flash wrong on 97 ,zero posts world wide. on that is my clue.
what makes you thing those are trans codes>? (shoe drops)

Alternator, and battery both are dying have the charging system checked

Best case scenario: Your battery is dead or almost dead.Worst case: The engine has seized and you have to replace it. Do the dash and interior lights stay on or turn out when you try to start the car?

When the car is running check the voltage at the battery. You should see 14 volts. If you see around 12 volts or less the alternator is not charging.

IF STARTER FUSE AND RELAY OKAY.REPLACE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE COULD HAVE BAD GROUND AT CABLE.IF CABLE GOOD. I AM LOOKING AT FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH OR FAULTY TRANSMISSION SAFETY NEUTRAL SWITCH.

why did you replace the battery and the starter?.i would say you have a problem like something running your battery down,get this saturn put onto a computer and it will tell you right away what the problem is.adrian,,,,,,,,,,,

Could be a bad battery and alternator, the alternator should still be covered. But the battery will need to be replaced, and make sure there are no short in the electrical system.

97 saturn turn over wont start , getting fuel ; no spark

Try checking the battery, it could be dead or almost dead. If it is, you might want to check and see if the alternater is out. If that dosn't work or the battery is fine, then try replacing the starter.

have a 97 sl1 which was very hard to start and when it would it ran rough and stalled out easily. sometimes no start. It turned out to be the heater sensor on the engine block (right side as you face the hood. just under the heater hose. the part was 17.00 or 27.00
I don't remember which but it ultimately was sending misinformation to the computer module and it always "thought" it was too hot and would adjust incorrectly. the major clue was therm
indicator read hot even when cold and just started. took me 2 days
to figure it out before spending money. good luck.
