SOURCE: want to change torsion bar keys

The torsion keys are supposed to give 2-3" additional drop vs.the "free" method. I know adjusting the torsion bars kills the ride but how bad is it and how far can you go???

Believe, 15/16 socket would be the correct size. Also, be aware that they are probably pretty rusted and VERY hard to turn at first. Air tools do no good, so you'll need a 1/2" drive breaker bar and a long pole to put on the end. This is the fastest way to get the torque you need to break those suckers loose.

I suggest measure and writing down the height about 3-5 spots on each side, whether it be the frame, body, or whatever. Crank each side a few FULL thread turns, then measure again. Once you get about the height you want, measure both side to make sure they're equal. After that, it's best to get a full alignment as some of the suspension will now be at different angles (of course).

SOURCE: NEED DIAGRAM OF 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK EXT

fuel pump is on the engine or either in the gastank follow the fuel line chevys are the easiest auto to work on a new i think yours is in your tank remove both straps and remove hose to filler neck. the fuel **** is in the center of th tank removed by a lock washer system holding the pump in also be careful that you follow the fuel lines though and that you remove bolts that hold the fuel ine to the frame and up to the engine or fuel filter then engine an up to the carb that way you can lower tank without bending fuel line any way however you took it off put it back if a human put this thing together then a human can fix it

SOURCE: how do i change my upper and lower ball joints

Jack up the car remove wheel remove brake caliper and remove rotor rent a ball joint press remover and installer tool (at schucks you get money back when you bring it back) if it's 4 wheel drive you will have to remove the axle shaft next pull the snap ring off on the top side and put tool on the lower tie rod end and press out, next do the top press out top joint next sand ball joint sockets so it is clean lube with WD-40 next press in top ball joint and then lower ball joint. In this order otherwise you will have to un install the top ball joint by removing the pin then nut.

Is it hard to put a straight axle under the front of a 05 chevy 1500 reg cab 4x4 the IFS on this thang sucks and its costing me lots of money cv axles and tires

You will have to use heavy steel square tubbing across front frame for spring hangers and on the back the spring hangers will be threw the frame,,welding torch , cutting torch and a place to do it,,if it's your everyday driver I suggest not doing it

The torsion bar suspension on my 99 silverado is bottomed out. I know about adjusting the torsion keys but the driver side was tightened all the way in since new. Do I need to replace bars, keys, or what...

SOUNDS LIKE THE TORSION bars might be getting weak. you can replace the keys with a set used as a leveling kit these will be indexed differently to allow more suspension height.A trick I use is to install a set of ford keys they are identical to the aftermarket set of lifting keys and half the price!!! the part number is XL3Z-5B328-CA this will probably be your best option.

Will 265/75 r16 tires fit on 2000 chevy silverado

Well I would say yes if it is the new body style and 4x4.Even 2WD you may have to turn up the torsion bars then get the front end aligned. The rims don't matter how tall just wide.I have 2002 4x4 1500 with that size, but not sure what was stock on mine.I also installed the after market torsion keys that will allow for up to 33"tires.Well hope this helps and good luck.
