sounds like a unique problem to the truck. Make sure no aftermarket seat covers are interfering with seat system sensors. Probably a bad or loose connection in clock spring assembly, cpa or faulty cpa

I would agree it's possible they rotated the steering shaft when they had the steering unhooked, have your airbag codes checked if you have a drivers squib circuit code or a steering angle sensor code then yes they most likely caused the concern.

I would not mess with an air bag. If something happens it could deploy and is very dangerous and also it is very expensive to have reinstalled if it does. However, if you do decide the remove the airbag you must disconnect your battery at least 30 minutes prior to attempting to remove it.
check airbag fuse.could have blowed fuse if fuse okay.turn on ignition switch on position the airbag light should glow 8 seconds then go out if not you have airbag fault need let dealership do a diagnostic check.
When
AIRBAG light it comes back on and stays on, it is telling you that
there is a fault in the air bag system and that the system has been
disabled because it is now working properly. To determine what is wrong
with the system you will need to count the amount of flashes that the
light does right before it stays on permanently and that will tell you
what tests need to be done to determine why the system is down.
The
most common thing that happens is the clock spring in the steering
column goes bad (if this occurs, notice that the speed control and the
horn no longer works as well).
Hope this helps, and I'll
appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial
comment. Have a nice weekend and thanks for using FixYa. Jose.
no there r no servicable parts on the air bag system...u need to return the truck to a qualified service repair center for the repair....they will be able to pull air bag codes an then properly repair ur air bag system
In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to disarm the airbag system can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury disconnect the battery 30 minutes prior to start of work.
it means your air bag system has a problem and it set a fault code . only a mechanic with the proper scanner or dealer can tell you what the problem is.
