try cleaning it and lubing it?
Grounding sound? Do you mean GROWLING sound? Gears, gearbox, transfer case, bearings. These are suggested items, but can be big dollar issues. Is it stuck between 2WD and 4WD? Try the button- turn 4wd on, let it kick in, back up, go forward, then disengage the 4WD by shutting it off, backing up, then moving forward. If this doesn't help, get a LR mechanic on it.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will set the P0741 diagnostic trouble code when it notices a difference between the rotational speed of the torque converter and the transmission input shaft that is greater than 200 revolutions per minute (RPM).
sounds like the vacuum lines are either pinched or the vacuum pump is shot. try getting a mechanic look at the lines on and around your transfer case... also try checking the fuses for the 4wd selector. let me know how it goes
