Check to make sure that the engine cooling fan or fans are working. Sounds like there isn't any air flow through the condenser. Also it won't hurt to wash out the condenser and radiator.
My guess either radiator is clogged or compressor is bad or low on freon...u said its clicking every 30 secs? Check freon level with a gauge. Is the air cool? Sometimes though car will run at normal temp but with ac on and condenser heating up radiator can't keep up. Flush and/or clean and check radiator/condenser for flattened fins
the system has to have enough Freon to produce pressures to properly check for leaks. the entire system needs to be checked, lines, Schrader valves, condenser, all fittings, evaporator, compressor seals. there is a leak it just has not been found.
Assuming there are no leaks, you could just need a little freon. But, If the fan (on the radiator) is not kicking on then your compressor may not come on either as it needs the fan to run to help keep the compressor cool. Typically it stems from being low on freon though and Autozone sells freon you can self administer but I would advise asking someone familiar with adding freon to help you so that you don't over fill or try to fill it from the wrong port.
I am going to assume you meant AC Compressor as the condenser is basically like a radiator in that it cools the freon.
I would say that your freon is probably too low to kick the compressor on. This could be simple as adding some freon (With Leak stop(just to be sure)) would get it working again. The question is, why did it get low? Could be just age and it needs a little freon but usually means that there is a leak somewhere (Hopefully it is not the condenser leaking). Some leaks are small enough that you just need to add freon every month or so but they eventually get bigger. Look for oil around the AC connections and hoses. Could be an O-ring that has gone bad. Hopefully it is simply low on freon.
Possibly low on refrigerant. When system is low on freon, it does not build up enough high side pressure to engage the condenser fan . When pressure is high enough. a high side pressure switch kicks on the cond. fan to maintain high side pressure. Have the system evacuated and recharged to proper level. A system dye can be added to check for any possible leaks.
Well the average DIY can't verify a leaking condenser. You would need a black lite if using dye in the system or a sniffer to sniff for the freon gas. I would get a second opinion.
have to remove the grille to remove the pipe that connects the condenser with the A / C to remove the screws that secure the condenser to disassemble and assemble the new is important to change orings that go in the vacuum beam pipes connected with cargo to check freon 134 eexistan no leaks and everything ready
Did you put some freon oil in it or a can of stop leak. A lot of times freon will leak from the o rings. If you just add freon and no oil it will slowly leak out. Add about 4 ounces of oil and then your freon. Let the car run w/ac on for about 30 minutes. This should work.
