No it doesn't here is the factory procedure

Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Remove the spare tire cover (if present) and trunk floor so that you can open the access panel and disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel pump.

  • Remove the fuel pump's electrical connector and disconnect the quick connect fitting from the fuel pump. Remove the fuel tank locknut using tool 07AAA-S0XA100 or the fuel tank retaining bolts with a socket wrench, depending on the year and engine. Remove the fuel tank.
  • Install the new fuel pump using the items included in the kit and be sure to replace the gasket and O-rings. Align the arrows on the fuel tank and pump.

How to replace the fuel pump on a 91 accord

Your car, like most made in the last 20 years has an electric fuel pump mounted inside the fuel tank. You have to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle to replace the pump. Luckily for you, your gas tank has a drain plug, so you can drain the gas out before you remove it. You may have to remove the rear half of the exhaust system for clearance. If you are still game, reply for more detailed info.

My fuel pump went out on my 1987 honda accord dx and everyone says it under the backseat but i cant find it do i have to drop the tank or wat please help fast. lim

I recently replaced the fuel pump on my 87 LXi. Drop the seat, and pull back the carpet from the trunk. You'll see two little round cover plates tarred to the floor right behind the seat back. Pry the driver side plate loose, and you'll see the cover for the fuel pump assembly underneath - it has a plug, a banjo bolted fuel line, and vent hose attached to it. Remove these, and remove 5 or 6 nuts with a 10mm socket, and lift the fuel pump assembly out, taking care to tilt it accordingly while lifting.

Before removing it though, take the plug loose and use a voltmeter to verify that you get 12vdc to the pump when the ignition is turned on. You should see the 12v for 2 seconds after the key is turned.

    Hope this helps.

    Fuel pump

Fuel pump is not in the tank but near the engine/ on the engine.
    Broken membrane?

But then whole other list of things can be wrong.

You can dismount the fuelpump and test it by moving the eccentric handle in some leverage setup.
