I'd say the timing marks are not as they should be. This means the chain is not quite in the right position on the camshaft sprocket(s), relative to the crankshaft.

Not an expert on non-us Nissans, but there should be a clutch switch to prevent you from cranking the engine in gear. I would check the circuit with that switch.
Flashing is bad, the engine is misfiring....you may have already damaged the cat converter by driving that way. Get it repaired before more damage is done.
